Stretch mark cream

Hi all
Can anybody recommend a good cream for stretch marks?
I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have so far been using palmers cocoa butter lotion. Did look at bio oil but was so much more expensive. Has anybody used it? Is it worth the money? Or is there something else you would recommend?

I used bio oil from three months religiously every day after my shower. I didn't get a single stretch mark. I expected to get some as my Mum has lots from pregnancy and I already have some from puberty on thighs and boobs.
It is pricey so I got it when on 3for 2 in Boots, but sooo worth the investment.
Shame I don't look after my skin so well now

I've been using a combination of Palmers cocoa butter, Bio oil and Cussons Mum & Me stretch mark cream. I'm 23 weeks and no marks so far. I've used the Palmers stuff for years so started with that but then figured I should maybe get something more stretch mark specific. The Bio Oil is my favourite cos it smells lovely and soaks in well. My bump has been a bit itchy recently so the cream tends to soothe that better. Get Bio oil on Amazon, so much cheaper!

I was doubtful about bio oil but bought some on offer, it was 1/3 off in tesco a little while ago. I'm now on my second bottle! I started using it about 18 weeks, I am prone to stretch marks too. I have some already from puberty on my inner thighs and hips.

So far I've still not got a mark on me at 23 weeks. I've had a massive growth spurt since 18 weeks and I'm now getting to be huge. I use it twice a day on boobs, bump, hips and thighs. What has sold it for me though is the dab I've out on a scar on my arm.. I burnt it on an oven 3 years ago, it was about 2 inches long, became infected and when it healed it looked like I had a massive indentation in my skin. I swear it is now smaller, smoother and no where near as obvious! Worth the extra money I'd say

Another vote for bio oil. No stretchmarks here.

Bio oil is great, my mums just given me a. Whole pot of hers as she hardly uses it anymore. I also use my no7 moisturiser cream :) xx

I vote bio oil too. Only 13 weeks but been using it every day since I found out. Only been using it once a day and the bottle seems endless. I'll be moving on to twice a day soon, just on my belly on boobs tho, my thighs are fine for now.

ive been using Johnsona camomile oil gel when I have a bath or shower at night but in the morning I use mum and me lotion. no a big this time round yet (33weeks) but last time i put on much more weight and when my belly was so stretched id use calamine cream to help relieve the itch!

I've been using the dove super thick body cream and the cussons mum&me stretch mark fader and I've definitely seen an improvement!

I've been mainly using the palmer's cocoa butter stuff designed for stretch marks. I also have a thing of bio oil and a tub of the cussons stuff, but the fact the palmers has a pump on the top makes it the easiest to use so I use it the most!

Pure coconut oil

I got stretchmarks really bad with dcs 1 and 2, although they faded quick. But with them I just used bio oil and it nothing. Well just had dc3 and used the coconut oil daily and I do not have one stretchmark. Just wish i had known about it with the others!

My mum had terrible stretch marks so I'm already using palmers at 10 weeks but suspect I'm fighting a losing battle against genetics!

I used Palmers and bio oil and it seemed to be working. And then I hit 36 weeks pregnant and I turned into a giant stretchmark. oh well. At least the Palmers smells nice.

Aldi get something in now and again that's very like bio oil (can't remember the name, but it comes in a white box with orange writing) and it's very good and a fraction of the price at around £2.50 for a large bottle. Smells good too. I haven't got the slightest hint of a stretchmark yet and I'm nearly 33 weeks - though tbf, I believe they usually start later than this.

Yes I've read that lots of women only get stretch marks in the last couple of weeks. So I'm always a little wary of comments about how well stuff works unless baby is born already! However I'm willing to try almost anything as it can't hurt I'm sure. And like dobedobe says it does all smell nice! Thanks for the aldi tip darkside.

If you are in London and can get to a Westfield, "beauty base" does cheap bio oil and (even cheaper) a Palmers version.

I used bio oil and didn't get any but have no idea if that was due to the bio oil or I was just lucky. I did notice some in Wilkinsons the other day that was on special offer.

Ooh was just looking on the aldi special buys website and the cheap bio oil ("re-gen oil") will be available in the baby special from Thursday.

Apparently stretch marks are genetic and if you're gonna get 'em, you're gonna get 'em! But there's no harm in trying to stave them off. I used an oil by Just for Mums that I got in Savers for £1 and didn't get a single stretch mark.

Savers sell bio oil, I can't remember how much it is but it's cheaper than asda, tesco etc

I used a Palmers last time and this time - no stretch marks so far. But I've also read that it's genetic so there's not a lot you can do, but it's nice to apply, isn't it?

Last time I wasn't particularly massive, and because I'd been, ahem, a bit chubby in the past I put it down to my skin having been solely stretched before. Don't know if that's really why though.

I didn't get any stretch marks until after 40 weeks. That said, I used the pretty pricey Mama Mio cream after they started to appear and the marks faded in colour and depth really quickly.

This time at 33 weeks I have started to get a few more quite high on my bump, which I am not at all happy about. Baby is lying transverse this time which I suppose might be putting strain on a different part of my skin, DD1 was always head down...

Oooh thanks Moggle - I'll be right back there on Thursday then! I've also heard that it's mainly genetic re whether you get them or not: apparently if your mother/sister have them, you're much more likely to get them. I've also read that young mothers (under 20, I think it said) are more likely to get them, as are those carrying twins or multiples.
