I just got a positive pregnancy test.

We had been trying for a baby but I thought we hadn't had any luck as I tested and got a negative result.

I've very long and irregular cycles but I really didn't think I was pregnant.

I've had to take diazepam due to severe neck pain- probably had a bout 4 tablets in the last four weeks and also I've had fertility reflexology which you definitely shouldn't have when pregnant.

What can I do? Is it likely I've done damage?

Am very worried.

congratulations! I don't know about the drugs but reflexology is generally safe during pregnancy as is other massage. There are certain bits they avoid in the later stages in case they bring on labour but I wouldn't worry too much.

any massage is not recommended in the first trimester but I think thats precaution rather than a problem. I had a back massage before I knew I was pregnant. All fine so far!

And don't worry about teeny amounts of diazepam either. Depending on how far gone you are, your little embryo might not even be attached to you yet (so not in contact with your blood supply or drugs) and even if it is, a small amount will be fine. The stress and upset worrying is causing you will be worse! Really don't worry, and congratulations.

dotty if you have long cycles, then it is likely to be very early on in your pregnancy, especially as you got a negative and now a positive, so is unlikely to cause a problem, and you have really taken very very little medication if only 4 tablets in 4 weeks. I thought massage was discouraged as it could bring on labour so as a precaution it is not recommended but I can't see how reflexology would be a bad thing. Many women take all sorts of things before they are know they are pregnant and in the vast majority of cases, all is perfectly fine.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, and try not to worry - easier said than done I know.

Try not to worry too much. My ds2 was a complete surprise pregnancy as I was on the pill. When I would have been two weeks pregnant I was put on diazepam twice a day and tramadol four times a day for two weeks and then just tramadol for two weeks for severe back spasm. As soon as I got a bfp I stopped taking anything though I was in agony.

Ds2 is absolutely fine.

If it was a low dose diazepam I don't think there will e a problem but ask your MW if you're really worried.

I was told that with a lot of medication that says not to take when pregnant its because they can't do clinical trials in pregnant women to see if it does affect the baby as it isn't ethical to risk harm to the baby.
