I'd done 15 tests by the time I met my midwife for the first time. She found it so funny it's in my notes.

I think it's completely normal to feel like this : ) at this stage, the docs don't do anything to confirm it either - mine just did the exact same test I did at home. And at my 10 week midwife appointment she took bloods but I didn't get the results until the 16 week appointment! By which time a scan had certainly proved it.

Congratulations!

Emzzy26x · 16/04/2014 10:20

Thats made me feel better :)
Thank you!
I have my booking in appt at 8 weeks but im not having my bloods done until the same day as my scan...
Is that weird?

no, depends where you are. I had a booking apt at 7 weeks then another midwife apt at 10 weeks to check scan had been booked.

I didnt hav any blood done until my scan, had it all at hospital at same time. midwife has never done blood, always been at hospital.

Emzzy I'm 9+2 with my first and feeling exactly the same as you. Every time my symptoms wane I panic. My scan isn't until the 9th May so ages away yet and my goodness time is dragging. I haven't seen my mw yet or even heard from her - chased the doctor up on Monday about it and they said that she was in this afternoon and would ring me. This waiting game is excrutiating!

somedizzywhore1804 · 16/04/2014 10:36

I definitely felt like this. I'm now 29 weeks and there's definitely a baby in there. Don't worry.

Flixy102 · 16/04/2014 10:47

I reckon it's completely normal, I had zero symptoms throughout pregnancy (now 37+3) and felt like a complete fraud at my booking app at 7 or 8 weeks!

alita7 · 16/04/2014 10:49

I felt like this too with my first pregnancy.

This time I've seen baby at a 7 week scan for spotting so I know it's there :p I'm 8 days away from my 12 week scan!

caravela · 16/04/2014 12:08

Emzzy I'm 10+6 and I feel exactly the same way, and DH does too. It's partly because I've had very few symptoms - I reckon if I was throwing up every day then it would be easier to believe. And I also haven't had any official "confirmation" by doctors - when I spoke to my GP she just took my word for it, so I am officially in the system as pregnant, but I did find it somehow weird that noone has proved it. I find it reassuring that other people on this thread feel the same way. I keep on reminding myself that I am pregnant right now, and even if something goes wrong, it still doesn't mean that the pregnancy wasn't real.
Congratulations and good luck with the scan.

OhTheDrama · 16/04/2014 12:22

I'm 8+3 and don't have half the symptoms I had with my other two DC's. I have sore boobs that come and go, a bit of tiredness and some cramping in the evenings. NO morning sickness!!!

By this point with my other two my head was permanently over the toilet bowl, couldn't keep my eyes open and my boobs were so sore I cried! I really don't feel properly pregnant this time because the symptoms are so mild and I am worried that they find it was a figment of my imagination at my first scan. Saying that, I've only done 5 tests which I think is quite restrained!

ShoeWhore · 16/04/2014 12:24

I was horrified that the GP was just going to take my word for it! He's 10 soon (that baby not the GP) Grin

balenciaga · 16/04/2014 12:26

Aww I was the same! Got 3 dcs and been same Every time lol

I'm sure will be fine x congrats x

Gen35 · 16/04/2014 14:05

I didn't realise how stressed I was until I saw the baby at the 12 week scan - I had also convinced myself there would be nothing there. Good luck op! Pregnancy's just a worrying time in general, try and find some ways of relaxing.

VaselineOnToast · 16/04/2014 16:33

It's nerve-wracking, isn't it? I was so nervous on the way to the scan that I even cried and started shaking. We had tried not to become attached to the idea of a baby, just in case.

Now I just keep repeating my friend's words in my head: "Your body is designed for this".

Best of luck and think calming thoughts!

ithoughtofitfirst · 16/04/2014 16:45

Lol I felt like this and its my second pregnancy.

And I've never retested cause I hate doing pregnancy tests so much.

Dw OP there will be a baby in there Xx

HolidayCriminal · 16/04/2014 16:53

I remember telling the MW that I was afraid of a molar pregnancy.
She looked baffled & finally replied "I don't think I've ever had a woman with a molar pregnancy."
I feel like such a numpty now, looking back on it.

Hobby2014 · 16/04/2014 16:58

I've 25 weeks tomorrow and had 3 scans and can feel baby moving but it still doesn't feel real for me!

januaryJump · 16/04/2014 17:12

caravela DH said something similar recently, had my booking in last week and he still can't believe that the first time the doctors actually confirm pregnancy beyond giving your word is at the 12wk scan. It's led him to wonder if anyone has ever gone in not ever pregnant...

Had to remind him that this is our 2nd, and no one 'confirmed' it until the scan last time around either. He finds it all very strange!

Barbsta · 16/04/2014 19:21

I felt exactly the same! I was that much a ball of nerves when I seen my baby and her heart beat I burst into tears. I know it's not something that's easy to not worry about but I don't think it's unusual :)

redexpat · 16/04/2014 19:39

First pregnancy didn't feel real until it was all over and I was suddenly holding a baby.

Gen35 · 16/04/2014 19:49

Yeah I have to agree with redexpat, I didn't really think it was going to happen until after delivery!

Snook99 · 16/04/2014 21:28

I'm 11 weeks today got my scan on 24th! And again am feeling the same only symptom that stays is achy boobs :( so we are all in it together, i take it it stays like this now till you have a baby in your arms! It's all very scary! X

Barbsta · 16/04/2014 21:53

I'm 30 weeks now and it still hasn't quite sunk in and I've got plenty symptoms and two scans. I still get a shock when I look at the scans and realise that's actually my baby and she's with me right now

caravela · 16/04/2014 23:03

january I guess it's even harder for men to believe it. My DH has got better about believing it in the last week or so (at the start he even got me doubting it by asking questions about whether it was possible that I just had a dodgy pregnancy test that had showed positive and had coincidentally missed my period, etc). He now accepts that two dodgy pregnancy tests and two randomly missed periods isn't very likely. I think it's because he really wants children and it's taken us quite a long time to conceive, so he's trying to protect himself in case things don't work out.

januaryJump · 17/04/2014 09:07

caravela DH asked very similar questions at the beginning! I think it's just seeing me be sick that has made it a bit more real, but it still hasn't sunk in. Which I guess is fair enough, as the partner you're not experiencing pregnancy in the same way so it's all just what you hear and see from your other half. The scan changes that, as does the bump, and especially feeling kicks. Just have to wait I guess, it can all be quite nerve wracking at times.
