Bad reaction to whooping cough jab

Hi All

I have just had my whooping cough jab (in the past hour) and I'm having some strange reactions and wondered if anyone had experienced the same.

My lips feel a bit swollen and tingly, as does my throat but I can breath and talk so far. My head hurts and my eyes feel sleepy, also I'm getting a shooting pain in my tummy. Very sharp.

The injection I was given was Repevax, which apparantly contains whooping cough and is normally given to pre school children.

Has anyone else had anything similar? Should I be concerned? I'm 28 weeks.

I'd call the GP/midwife for advice.

call your GP, but if it gets any worse, go to A&E. Particularly if the swelling/tingling gets worse.

Call your GP/MW for advice. If it is a reaction is sounds like a reasonably strong one (I thought you were going to be complaining about a ridiculously stiff arm, which is common). Any form of throat swelling is generally a bit of a warning sign that they'd want to keep an eye on you.

Hope your doing ok OP.

How are you feeling now, OP?

There is a yellow card system to report vaccine reaction. Talk to your GP.
