My waters have broken!

I am 98% sure my waters have broken.
Woke up at 4:40 covered in it, and it was was still a bit trickling 5 mins later.
I did sort of need of need a wee though so that's why I'm the 2% unsure. Most of it was clear but a tiny bit was very light pink.

So err what now, again? Slightly over excited and can't remember what to do. No contractions or back ache. Am 39+4 weeks

TIA! Smile

ExcitingGrinGrin. Looks like your baby will be making an appearance soon! My waters never broke at home so not sure what you have to do. I think if it's clear it's ok but you can call hosp just to check.

Casmama · 11/04/2014 04:59

I think you phone the labour ward and take advice from them. I presume you stay at home till contractions are under way but may need to go in at some point if they still haven't started.

Good luck!

Oooh exciting! Iirc your supposed to put a pad on and if it's still collecting fluid after a bit then it's likely to be waters rather than wee.

Defo with a ring to the maternity unit for some proper advice.

Good luck! [Grin]

Ooo exciting good luck !

Ok it's still trickling quite a lot so either I have the worlds worst bladder control or it really is my waters! Thanks everyone knew I could rely on Mumsnet to be awake. Do I call midwife or hospital?

My waters broke with my let two. I called the mat ward and they asked me to come in to check me over. I was then dent home and went back once I got to the stage that I wanted gas and air.

schmalex · 11/04/2014 05:15

Call the hospital labour ward OP. Good luck!

YoniMatopoeia · 11/04/2014 05:15

Sorry for typos. On phone.

mumofone25 · 11/04/2014 05:32

Yes call the labour ward and they will advise you of the next steps and may want you to go in to be checked over. My waters had a light pink tinge to them! Good luck!

bebopanddoowop · 11/04/2014 05:39

Good to know yours had light pink tinge too, mumofone.

Called them, they said go in at 8am to be checked out, so just twiddling my thumbs now!

How are they STILL going?!

BobaFetaCheese · 11/04/2014 08:53

Hope you're in and baby is out!

bebopanddoowop · 11/04/2014 10:58

Went to the hospital and get all checked out - waters gone but still no contractions so am waiting at home now, which is booooring. If nothing progresses then I'll be induced tomorrow morning!

Go to bed and get some sleep!! You may be in for a bit of a journey if you need to be induced. Not everyone's experience obviously but my induced labour was quite long.

Congratulations! One way or the other you'll have a lovely snuggly newborn by Sunday (depends how long they will leave you after your waters have gone) is my birthday on Sunday, will you name it for me? Grin

bebopanddoowop · 11/04/2014 13:51

Yes am dreading a long induction to be honest! Resting now, or trying to but am over excited! There is light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.

Happy birthday, yes I will of course name the baby Window now Wink

Good luck bebop!

This is exactly what happened with me and DC1. Fingers crossed for you and hope things get going. I was advised to do lots of walking not that it helped.

Soon you'll have your baby!! Smile

NaturalBaby · 11/04/2014 14:03

My mw gave me a thorough stretch and sweep when my waters went. I was desperate for a home birth and baby arrived 7hrs later.
Good luck!

FastWindow · 14/04/2014 19:27
