Struggling to cope

I'm in my first trimester with awful morning sickness and am struggling to cope because I also have an 11-month-child to care for and she is going through a phase where she won't be left alone at all for a second and it's driving me to despair.

I work from home too, so I'm struggling to find the energy to get things done.

My husbands work are causing him a lot of unfair stress too at the moment and that isn't helping.

Anyone been there done that and can offer advice?

I could have written your post a few weeks ago. First trimester, working from home with a 14 month baby.

I found the first trimester harder this time round, it's so exhausting and the all day nausea is miserable. I found cbeebies fantastic for entertaining DD so I could get some work done. Mornings were best, I found I was more tired as the day went on. Luckily my dp is fab and has cooked dinner for the last month or two as I can't stand the smell of cooking food! After a few weeks I just accepted that I was going to get less work done and would catch up when I started to feel better, although I realise this might not be possible for everyone though. Lots of sofa rest. I also found that DD would nap for double the time if she fell asleep on me instead of her cot so i had lots of lazy afternoons!

Weeks 7-9 were the worst, happy to report an improvement at 9 weeks. I'm 12 weeks today and have been feeling so much better, still tired but more manageable.

I hope you start feeling better soon.
