I'm only 4 ish weeks. Went hiking today. Some hills but nothing too serious. I'm not super fit but can usually handle a 4-5 mile walk fairly easily.

Today it absolutely killed me! I was almost in tears with how absolutely exhausted I felt! (my poor dad had to go and get the car and come back for me!)

Is this my body saying "whoa there, take it easy" or am I just having a day of being soft?

I found I was exhausted in the 1st 12 weeks, it's a common symptom. Ignoring it doesn't do any harm, but it feels crappy. Embrace the sofa! Grin

I now it's common to feel tired. Just wasn't sure if I was imagining it or just being soft.

Sofa being embraced (definitely for the rest of today anyway)

I'm reasonably fit - up until about a 3 weeks I was running just under 5k a few times a week, cycling about 5 miles and horse riding 4 or 5 times a week. Oh and walking the dog a lot including doing canicross.

I've had a horrid cold recently and an ankle injury so had to take a break - tried to go out for a power walk the other day with a wee jog and felt like an old lady - not sure if it was the pg or a hang over from the cold - hoping to try again tomorrow as I can't give up exercise for 9 months!!

Tiredness is worse in the first trimester and the last month I find. I was shattered for the first 12-15 weeks and then absolutely fine.

I know what you mean kitkat. I've had to immediately quit my main hobbie/exercise (pole fitness) as I figured it probable wasn't wise to carry on.

I'm going to be bored and unfit!

No, you're not! You'll probably feel a whole lot better after the first trimester Smile

Here's hoping!

Had this on Saturday - went for a regular walk, about an hour and 45 with the local dog walking group. Absolutely shattered by half way round!!

I am 17wks and can't go up a flight of stairs without stoping for a rest! It only gets worse!

IMO there is nothing more exhausting than early pregnancy tiredness, I usually have bags of energy but I get floored every time in the first few weeks.

It gets better in the middle bit of pregnancy (once your placenta is up and running) and then you get tired at the end again, even so I still don't have the same desire to sleep during the day that I get in the early weeks.
