Hi
My brother had chickenpox two weeks ago. I haven't seen him since but don't know how long he's contagious for? The spots first appeared 2 weeks ago exactly. I'm 22 weeks pregnant never had them and neither has my ds. When do u think it's safe to see him again?
Thanks

if the spots have crusted over then he is no longer contagious. They normally crust over within 1 week of them appearing so you should be fine to see him again now.

If you've already had chickenpox yourself, it would be safe to see him anyway.

You can get your immunity tested with a blood test from the doctor, mine came back same day

No longer infectious once the spots have crusted over I believe. But there's quite a long incubation period of up to three weeks prior to the spots coming out. It's infectious a couple of days until the rash appears and can be about six days afterwards until the spots crust over.
