Can 20 week scan ever be wrong?

I'm on my fourth pregnancy have found out with all of them the sexes and all so far have been right, I'm sure sonographer got this baby right too but something in back of my mind keeps thinking but what if? I'm unsure this time but wondering if it's because I felt throughout this pregnancy it was a boy and then at 20 weeks exactly had my scan and she said girl. She showed us the three lines and we have two girls already and one boy. We found out with all of them and all previous sonographer a have been correct. So I don't know why I'm doubting it this time?

Of course it can be wrong but it is much more likely to be right than your 'feeling' that it is a boy.

If they have positively seen those creases, then the chance of it being wrong are minuscule.

I'm the same! I have had 8 scans so far (various issues) and from 14 weeks I've been told its a girl. Have seen the creases, genuinely don't mind either way but as we were setting up the very pink nursery with every pink accessory possible (DH has gone pink mad) I have a niggling doubt in the back of my mind that we are gonna end up with a pink filled house and a little boy popping out! Don't know why, I have a boy who is 8.5 so maybe it's just that I'm programmed for a boy! X

Yes, they can be wrong. A friend of mine was told repeatedly (she had extra scans for medical issues) a girl but delivered a boy.

However, they are more likely to be right than a 'feeling' it's a boy Grin

I was told I was having a girl at 20 weeks. When my baby arrived my mum announced "you're little girl has got a willy"!!! So yes they can be wrong. My DH said all along he "knew" it was a boy.

Your not you're! Grrrr

Yes, the can't be as certain with a girl. I've known a few come out as boys!

I am due tomorrow with DD2 and am convinced its going to be a boy that comes out. I havent washed anything other than DDs old stuff and have kept receipts just incase. I will also be taking gender neutral clothes to hospital so as not to dress a boy in pinks and florals. Either way i will be ecstatic.
