TMI - weird smell from down there?

Hi all

The past few weeks, I've noticed a strong 'womanly' or 'hormonal' smell coming from down there. It's not TERRIBLY unpleasant, I don't even know how to describe it. I am aware of it though. I especially notice at work as I wear thin scrubs so the smell is more obvious. I am uber hygienic by nature and I'm pretty sure it's not infection related.

I've tried scented panty liners to no avail.

Is this just a weird pregnancy thing?

Hi..how far along are you? I'm 31 weeks and have quite a strong odour from there by the end of the day, heavy discharge too. I think it's quite natural but if youre concerned mention it to your MW....I'm actually going to mention mine with MW tomorrow.
As you say not overly unpleasant to me anyway.

Also don't use scented panty liners they might give you thrush!

Just a suggestion...since discoveting Tena Lights I'd never use any other liner. Not frahranced either, but really really effective.

Yep, I've noticed this throughout the second half of my pregnancy. I've asked dh many times if he can smell it and he says no

I'm now nearly 40wks and it smells kind of sweet recently...so I'll ask the midwife tomorrow to check for waters! I've had heavy discharge most the way through; the glamour of pregnancy eh?

Spray deodorant on the outside of your panties and this may help. I also second Tena panty liners, they are so much more effective than any regular ones, and they absorb smells really well. I used to work in a really hot environment where you'd sometimes get this lovely feminine crotch sweat going on.....

I have this! I was like wtf is that smell before realising it was me I keep trimmed or waxed down there which helps and also when I wipe after going to the loo I also use the toilet wipes which is really good, but a pH neutral one. Scented things give you a big chance of thrush.

It is definitely worse if I have been sweaty as my thighs now are huge so I shower quickly at night sometimes too.

I realise scented stuff is a risk, but it was out of desperation and embarrassment!

It's a combination of hormones and your sense of smell being a lot keener during pregnancy and after childbirth so that you recognise the smell of your own baby.

It really isn't as obvious to people as you think, horrible though it seems at the time.
