Light bleeding after intercourse

Hi ladies,

I found out I am pregnant just over a week ago, my dates say that I am about 7+4.

My husband and I had intercourse last night and I was a little concerned that when I went to the loo, I had very pale red blood on the tissue. I checked again this morning and it had stopped. Is this common after intercourse, am I just worrying??

Had an MC at around 2-3 weeks in August so want to make sure everything is ok!

Definitely normal.

Cervix can be a little raw and most of the time its irritation

I would say it is common, the cervix can get irratated, I had it too.

However any bleeding should be checked out, can you give your EPU a call?

Ohh yes epu can advise you or a local midwife (ring gp and ask for local mw contact number)

I haven't even seen my doctor yet, had to wait two weeks for an appointment! But I am seeing him in the morning. I've had no pain or cramping and no bleeding since, but I will keep an eye on it today and tell my doc tomorrow. Thanks guys x

See a Dr, but I have this and its quite common. Just cervical irritation.

I had that a couple of times. I think it's quite common - but an unwelcome scare, nonetheless. I did once call the midwifery helpline at the hospital I was registered at and they recommended to wear a panty liner so you can keep an eye on whether there's any fresh bleeding.

Hopefully your Dr can refer you to your hospitals EPU,mine did. Sure it's nothing to worry about.

I'm 7+4 today and I have had the same each time after intercourse. My midwife had booked an early scan as I had a colposcopy and treatment done in oct last year after discovering abnormalities after a smear so they have said they want to check as I have had cervical treatment. If you have had anything like that it might be worth a follow up? X

Sho - make sure they know when you are in labour as it does affect care. Pm me and I will fill you in with my story if you like.

Check with your EPU. Most of the time it's an irritated cervix and harmless, but better safe than sorry (plus if it occurs again you won't be so worried).

Sho I have had similar in the past. Not after an abnormal smear but my cervix erodes (ectropian) at some points in my cycle, when I came off the pill/went on the pill and in pregnancy - must be hormones. The gynie confirmed this: also it is harmless. FX same for you!
