Hi all

Any advice on this?

I'm 27 weeks and weeing more or less constantly. I don't have a UTI and don't have any burning or anything but every 20 mins or so I am desperate to go and there's litres of it. Far more than I'm drinking! When I need to go I'm desperate and it's like an ache in my bladder.

Is this normal? Is the baby just sitting on my bladder? It's driving me mad. Last night I was awake every 30-45 mins needing to wee.

Hopeful bump and also to add that I don't seem to be able to empty my bladder properly either. Example, I just went, felt I was done and lots came out- not just a trickle-, and within five minutes needed to go again and again it was a full half pint or more of wee.

If this is normal it totally sucks! Grin

Gosh I don't know what to say! I'm 28 + 1 and sometimes feel like I need to pee every 5 minutes but it's normally a tiny trickle.

You must be due a MW appt in the next week or so? (I've got my 28 week one tomorrow) Be sure to mention it just in case. They'll test your sample as well won't they so plenty of opportunity to ask why on earth you seem to pee far more than you drink.

Best of luck!

Were you tested / all clear for gestational diabetes?

Boogles91 · 07/04/2014 13:21

It could be sensitive bladder. Or you might me retaning water. Our lil man is blocking my right kidney so its agony and annoying as all i do is go for wees but i meed to go almost again as obviously my kidneys blocked so stuff gets through at certain times x

It's a royal pain in the bum, no doubt about it. About 30 seconds after i've gone i sometimes feel the need to go again. It's moreso at night- during the day I'm not so bad. ANNOYING.

I didnt think about gestational diabetes- the few times i have had my blood sugars tested by the GP they've been fine, but perhaps i should request the GTT test soon. i didnt have the risk factors for it so they werent going to do it as standard i dont think.. hmm...

My Dad injects insulin so I had to have the GD test last time and this time. It only occured to me after I posted as I think frequent urination can be a sign of diabetes? I'm all clear for GD thankfully and hopefully you ChicaMomma and the OP are too but always worth asking...

No, I don't have GD- I had the test, so it isn't that. Maybe it's just bad luck. Maybe I'm retaining water. I will mention it to MW but in the meantime it's driving me fucking bonkers!! Grin
