Sudden dizziness/feeling faint?

Im currently 5+3 have had some minor symptoms back ache, occasional mild nausea, burping and very sore boobs.

I was sitting at my desk in work today and suddenly felt pretty sure I was going to faint no pain or anything but just was suddenly hot, my heart was racing and I felt a bit shaky.

Managed to nip to the loo and sit for a few minutes with my head between my knees and it passed very quickly. Felt a bit hot/weak for about 10 minutes afterwards but absolutely fine now.

I know every pg is different but I just wanted to check this is normal and if so, whats the best way to deal with it?

When I had my first mc I also passed out but it was due to the extreme pain this time I felt fine other than hot and dizzy

It happened to me a lot with DS1. In my case it turned out to be something common with HMS, which I was only diagnosed with a few yers ago.

Make sure you keep your fluid volume up with plenty to drink at frequent intervals.

Thanks - glad to know its normal! What's hms sorry?

I'm drinking loads - and peeing loads too - should just set my desk up in the loo!! X

I had this with DS - I had to take 2 weeks off work as I couldn't walk from the lounge to the kitchen without going fuzzy headed! turned out to be anaemia, which is quite common in pregnancy. A few iron tablets and I was back tonormal. hope you feel a bit better soon Smile

Will go grab me some iron tablets - thank you!

Could also be low blood pressure - also really common esp in the first trimester! I have this and feel faint and dizzy pretty much every time I stand up! Which is nice...

I kept getting these dizzy spells, only i would get a panic attack with them then actually pass out -.- anxiety was bad enough but babys make it worse lol i told my midwife as i was having quite a few a day and she said it was blood sugars dropping with bp, but i checked my sugars after having an attack and they were sky high 0.0 luckily they have subsided now x

This happened to me a few times. Midwife said it was either low blood pressure or low blood sugar. Make sure you eat and drink at regular intervals and if you are concerned ask your GP to check your blood pressure if you're not due to see a midwife soon.

Low blood pressure isn't usually a cause for concern in pregnancy so don't worry too much.

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm thinking it might be blood sugar related as it's happened again although not to the same extent, after eating my lunch.

This morning I'd literally just finished eating a banana when it hit and for lunch I've just had some lentil soup and fruit in jelly and while I don't feel faint, I feel quite weak and sleepy which is odd given the lunch I've eaten - I'd normally expect to feel like this after a really heavy, stodgy lunch.

I've not booked in with the mw yet (waiting til I reach 6 weeks after 2 previous mcs at 5 weeks) but I'll mention it to them and I assume they'll check bp anyway.

I used to get this in my first trimester too and it can be quite scary. If I was at home and lie down and elevate my feet which usually worked, if I was at work I used to put a desk fan on to cool me down which would help. I mentioned it to my MW and she didn't seem too concerned.

I hope it passes for you soon.
