I'm 36+4 and booked in for a section on the 25th due to DD1 being back to back and on the large side.

But I've just been to the loo and (tmi alert!) I had a heavy discharge, snotty bit like beginning/end of period and if I'm honest I feel completely worn out too.... Just wondering if it's the beginning of my plug... I don't remember getting this with dd1 but maybe I just didn't notice!?

This baby was heading in all the right directions last week at midwife appointment so I wouldn't be surprised and frankly thankful that she's on her way! Just waiting to see if I get any aches and pains now!!

Any ideas??

Sounds like a show to me, so yes your plug is probably on its way out.

Call your MW or Mat Unit and let them know, they will be able to advise. I had one of these a few hours before my waters went in my 1st pregnancy (but I'd had an ECV the prev day due to breech presentation so was on the watch). Good luck, baby may be on its way a bit sooner than anticipated. I still got my CS, but I was over 7cm by the time I was examined and it was all a bit of a rush.

This happened like in the last 30 mins, had no pain or any other indication as yet?? Can't quite imagine that this one may come early as dd1 was 10 days late so find it hard to believe that this one might come early. (She took 26 hours to come too)

I think I'm trying to talk myself out of this now so not to get too excited. (But if it is I need to do some serious organising of childcare as I have dd1 who is coming up 3 and my mum who is coming to look after her lives 250 miles away!!)

Mojo - I had the same thing last week at 37+4 aaaand it is still ongoing, I seem to be getting it most nights/mornings. I had my 38 week appt this morning and asked about it. It's almost definitely your plug and it could mean you are going to go into labour in the next 24hours... or the next three weeks! MW said to call the hospital in the case of strong regular contractions or waters breaking, otherwise hang in there! It could still be a while yet xx

That's what I was thinking kjh5, that's why I'm not getting my hopes up. Lol. My partner is at work but that is only a 5 min walk away so not panicking about him getting home. Will ring midwife and tell her I think though.

I'm the same as kjh5 - been losing bits like this on and off for nearly 2 weeks now (currently 38+5) which midwife said was normal. Still no sign of baby making an appearance, although i think bump has dropped a bit more today.

I think it's a sign that things are moving in the right direction, but doesn't always mean labour is that imminent unfortunately...

Midwife been to do a swab to make sure it's not an infection, she thinks it's my plug too but like you say could take a while to go into labour, also said I was having a Brixton hicks when she went to feel my tummy (which I didn't have a clue! Lol) will just have to wait and see
