Hello all I'm new to this site.I'm 9 weeks pregnant & have had 2 previous miscarriages 8 weeks & 5 weeks.I started losing brown stringy discharge at 6 week's but had a scan at 6+5 & baby was fine. Monday I lost the same brown stringy discharge but alot darker, went straight up epu. They didn't scan me the doctor examined my cervix & said it was closed which he said is a good sign, since Tuesday I've been getting brown stringy discharge & Brown blood, it's not in my pad just when I wipe. I haven't said any symptoms since about 5.5weeks. I get occasional twinges but that's it. Got scan on Tuesday & I'm petrified x

amy so sorry you are going through this. I've been there several times and it's horrible. I'm sure you know brown blood is old blood, and that not all bleeding in early pregnancy is a miscarriage, and equally sure that won't make you feel any better when it's gone badly for you before. Here to hand hold until your scan. There is a mumsnet board specifically for miscarriage and pregnancy loss, and a thread for recurrent miscarriage support, hidden away in the body and soul section of the talk boards.
I hope your fears are misplaced and you get good news on Tuesday, but if not, go prepared to insist on being referred to RMC clinic for tests, and in particular that 'products' (sorry Sad ) from this pregnancy are tested.

Thanks hun. I'm praying for a miracle at the minute. I think it's all over now. I did do a pregnancy test last night cause with the blood I'm losing I thought hormones would of gone down but still positive so not a clue. Doctors at epu don't seem concerned at all but I'm going insane already in the mind set its over & I'm dreading the words that they are going to say x

Amy sending you a huge hug and a hand hold, I've had there mcs so know how you're feeling I second everything that baking said brown is good however I know it doesn't make it even the slightest bit easier.
I've had three successful pregnancies and with my first I had the biggest bright red bleed ever
was running down my legs ( sorry tmi) was convinced I had lost her, when I went for a scan there she was that was at nine weeks.

Hope everything works out for you be kind to yourself and try to stay positive even though I know how hard that is.

Pancakeflipper · 06/04/2014 20:47

Another hug.
I bled bright red blood and dark brown blood during both my pregnancies from 8 weeks until 30 weeks (both ended with happy babies).

It's just awful, I hated going to the loo.

I hope the scan goes well for you. Fingers crossed X

So sorry you are going through this. Although you probably don't want to hear this now after 3 mc you can be referred to recurrent mc unit where hopefully they will bet to the bottom of it and support you on the way to a healthy baby.

Pregnantagain7 · 06/04/2014 21:26

Amy when you had your scan at 6 weeks did you see a heart beat? I believe that once you see a heartbeat your chances of miscarriage reduce greatly. I know this it not the case for everyone, I'm suppose I'm trying to find positives in a horrible awful situation.
Please let us know how you get on Tuesday will keep everything crossed for you :)

Pregnantagain7 · 06/04/2014 21:28

Sorry I meant to add a kiss at the end not a smiley face inappropriate sorry x

amyjade86 · 06/04/2014 23:31

Hello pregnantagain I had a scan at what I thought was 6 weeks & saw heartbeat but they said I was earlier than that then I had a scan at 6+5 & again I saw pips heartbeat. Don't know how fast but looked fast, pip measured at 8.4mm x

So sorry you're going through this. I had four miscarriages, and the tell tale sign that I was starting to miscarry were changes to my breasts (they went from over inflated and sore to saggy and painless) not bleeding. I bled on and off through the whole of my 5th pregnancy including three large bleeds but went on to give birth to beautiful healthy happy twins at 36 weeks. The only possible good thing about having three miscarriages is that you can get referred for all the 'recurrent miscarriage' tests, and these showed I had a relatively common blood condition that is easily treated and stopped my miscarriages. Don't lose hope, lots of people have bleeds during early pregnancy and don't miscarry. I'm keeping everything crossed everything turns out ok for you.

Hello ladies just got back from hospital. Not good news my little pip stopped growing at 7+1 week's. Pips still there but no heartbeat. Having surgery on Thursday. I'm an emotional wreck at the minute. Thank you all for your kind words. Wishing u all luck with your pregnancies xx

amy I'm so sorry the MMC was confirmed. Please insist they run some tests after your op. You have plenty of time to decide if you want to pursue RMC testing because the rest of it is blood tests that can be done at any time, but if you lose the chance to get products from ERPC tested it is gone for good. It makes a big difference to know if you are losing healthy embryos because of a problem with you, or if the embryos have some genetic problem (and whether that's a random thing or something passed on from one of you) There's a lot of advice and support on the RMC thread on the MC board, you'd be made v welcome over there if/when you are ready to think about tests.
Thinking of you, it's horrible to go through the mill over and over Flowers

chainstore · 08/04/2014 15:47

So sorry to hear that, was hoping for good news. Hope you have RL support.
