Hi all. I've had brown spotting at the start and middle of my pregnancy. Went to the loo last night and it's back when I wipe. I'm now 29 weeks and can feel baby moving around normally. When I mentioned to midwife last time she just said to monitor it and contact maternity unit if it got heavier/red. It went away after a day or so. Should I contact again about this spotting now or adopt a wait and see approach??

Ring the hospital, let them know or your midwife, and also tell them that you have been told to monitor things but are worried. If they think you need to go in for a check over then. They will tell you :) i had this at 18wks and was told if i had it again or it comes back with a vengance to just ring to say im on my way and they will be waiting for me. Currently 26wks and nothing so far :) i was really worried though as when i mc that was how it started, brown spotting and it didnt stop, amd just turned to dark red one night and then i had an almighty pain in my stomach and instantly my boobs went down and i felt empty. I would ring thoughthey appreciate you ringing x

Just spoke to delivery suite. They said not to come I as it was brown and only spotting. Slightly relieved although still wishing it would just go away! X

I had brown spotting in week 7 for a few days. They scanned me at the EPU and all was fine. It came back in week 11 and I've basically had it ever since (currently week 21). Some days it's just a little bit of brown discharge, others it's a few spots of brown blood on my underwear. It always worries me but the midwives have always just shrugged it off and no cause has been found. When they don't worry, I try not to, but it is hard! Good luck with it.
