Hi I'm 38+4 days last couple of days my underwear has been more damp. I don't know if it's a bit of urine or watery discharge. But I got up this morning went to loo and there was a damp patch all up the back of my underwear.
Sorry tmi but I know it could be sweat as well. It's been like this for a couple of days.
I've just got a bath dried my self really well and put some underwear on and going to see if it happens again. It didn't smell like urine

I've had bh on and off all last week but I don't know if it's all just part of late pregnancy.

This is my first.

I have this. I've been told it's just watery discharge and if it was waters they would leak every time you get up.

Thanks I did think I was clutching at straws lol wish labour would just hurry up lol

I'd check with your midwife. They will be able to see if it's waters or not. Mine leaked slowly and I had no idea - thought I was weeing myself! It wasn't until it turned green I went to hospital and was induced immediately. They'd been leaking for days and days.

Mrs bungle. Was it a constant dampness in your underwear or on and off for days.
I don't no what to do as I can't even feel it leaking.

I feel a bit silly ringing up if it's just discharge I don't no what to do.

Ring the midwife.
Seriousy.

If it is the waters than baby might be in distress later.
better to check. they won't mind.

missmargot · 06/04/2014 11:05

Please ring, you won't be the first to ask the question and it really is better safe than sorry as your waters breaking a long time before delivery is an infection risk.

Newmummy123 · 06/04/2014 11:06

Ok will give them a ring now again sorry for too much Info but my whole bum crack is even damp sorry lol it doesn't smell of urine

There's nothing dignified about pregnancy or labour Smile

It could be your waters, they can be tested with a strip a bit like a pregnancy test, that's how the the midwife could tell mine had broken.

MrsBungle · 06/04/2014 11:24

Mine leaked on and off but sometimes it was a bit if a gush. I can't believe I didn't know, I felt like an idiot but I honestly thought I was leaking urine. I had heard waters smell "spermy" but mine didn't, they didn't smell of anything really! Best to check it out, they did a speculum exam on me and knew straightaway.

flippyflapper · 06/04/2014 14:32

mine slowly leaked. went ti hospital and they said it wasn't. I was adamant they were as this waa my 3rd dc

anyway u refused ti move and luckily waa having small contractions so they kept me in for 2 days.

day 3 they did blood tests and u have high levels of infection so I was induced that morning

I wish they listened to me as my dd had pneumonia (infection on her lungs ) and was very poorly

bloody same thing happened again in my next pregnancy and again they didn't listen so I demanded a scan and most of the fluid around the baby was gone.

listen to your instincts :)

I had the same thing. At 40+2 I was told that I was indeed leaking and that my waters had broken. It took two midwife to come to that conclusion after a speculum examination and to be honest they did not seem that confident with their diagnosis Confused
Then after being induced that night and when 6cm dilated my midwife had to break my waters! When she did they broke dramatically, with a massive gush and provided a huge relief. I went from 6-8 cm straight after that.

It was my first baby too and I just didn't know what to expect. Apparently it was my hind waters that we're leaking...

Damn you iPad! Midwives and were!

cheekyfunkymonkey · 06/04/2014 14:52

This happened to me last time. I went to hospital and they made me wear a normal sized pad. They said that if it soaked through in the next hour it was probably my waters. It didn't and so I went home. When my waters did go it was a spectacular waterfall!
