I did a pg test(Boots own make)this morning and after a minute or so a VERY faint plus sign appeared in the window.Af was due a couple of days ago,I've been feeling very tired and have had period type pains for the last 3 or 4 days, which I've still got.I've kept the test to show dh when he gets in from work and hopefully he's going to bring another one home,so I can do another test, but I've just looked at the stick(yet again)and it's now so faint, the plus sign is hardly there.Just wondered if anyone else had kept their test for a few hours and the result had virtually disappeared.
I am a regular and have changed my name, until I know for definate if I am pg or not.
Thanks.

Mine did, exactly the same situation, very faint to start with then had disappeared after a few hours. I did another a couple of days later and it was practically glowing and still hasn't gone - I'm 21 wks now!!

From what I've read, if there's a positive line then you are definitely pg as it's impossible to get a false positive.

There are also lots of posts in the archives here of women who don't get any kind of +ve result until a week or more after af was due.

I'd start celebrating (if it's a good thing!) tbh.

ditto olihan- the same happened to me, dr told me to wait a few more days and test again. it took 6 tests with the line getting progressively stronger to convice me. I think its just evaporation. mine is 21/2

happened to me with my 2nd baby...did 4 tests, 1st 2 were so faint i thought was negative, 2nd 2 were barely there so went to my gp and had a blood test to confirm.

Hi Shanks73

I feel so excited as I have actually had experience of something and can respond to a post!!!!!!!!!

I did two Boots own tests (pack of 2, quite cheap) and they both came up with a strong line one way and the faintest of faint lines the other. In fact, they were so faint, we were holding up to the light and scrutinising. We did both afternoon and then evening. Then, DH said he'd go to Tesco and spend out more money on a posher test, so came back with a pack of three Clearblue Digitals. I refrained from doing one that night and woke up at 5.27am (I remember as I waiting until 5.29am to look at the test) and used it then and the display said PREGNANT. Consequently woke up DH!

Am now 13 weeks! Go forth now to SHOPS!!!!!!!!!!
Use your first wee of the day! Do you "feeeeeel" pregnant?

bubbaloo · 19/08/2006 17:38

Thanks Ladies.I've just done another test(Clearblue)and got a BFP which is very hard to miss.
I am so shocked as Ds is only 14 months and we spent 7 years ttc him,so didn't expect number 2 to happen quite so quickly.
Certainly a lovely surprise.

This happened to me too. In the end I bought a digital one that clearly sayys 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant'. They are a bit more expensive but well worth it!!

compo · 19/08/2006 17:40

congratulations
