I am due on Oct 31 with my second child. I already have a daughter who is 3. I am currently fretting about giving birth to an elephant as everyone mentions how big I am. My daughter was 8lbs 6 and I managed fine with that. I have a fear it is 10 lbs or something! I know, no rational thought going on here!

Also, I wrote a lot about someone we can't talk about the other week at my blog. Sadly Blogger ate it and I had to move the site. If you are interested in reading my charting of parenthood and pregnancy I am now at www.doingitallagain.com

I look forward to joining in over here though, if you'll let me!

Cheers

Emily

Hello!

Hi Emily! Everyone told me how big I was, too - is it twins, are you diabetic etc. Even the midwife thought I was going to get a nine pounder.

In the end - 7lb 2oz!

Welcome to Mumsnet

hi emily and welcome to mn. When I was having dd I was told constantly she would be 10lb plus and I wouldnt have her naturally as ds had been 9lb1oz. However when she arrived she was a diddy 6lb14ozs. I am now 19wks again and am just going to ignore all the rubbish about sizes.

Hi Emily
I'm due on the 29th October so thought I'd say hi as we are very close on dates! How are you finding the preg compared to the 1st time? My ds is 2 and I'm more tired. Have tried lying down whilst he's playing but he just climbs all over me!!

Everyone mentions how small I am - you can't win either way. It had been worrying me just in case the baby wasn't growing properly. I wonder how all these people can have a mental image of what size a pregnant woman is supposed to be at different weeks of pregnancy!!
Cheers
Alex

It is really scary when they say you are going to have a MASSIVE baby. As if they can see inside your tummy or something. My midwife has told me I am having a boy as well because the heart rate is 120bpm. I looked that up on the internet and there is no proven science behind that myth!

Drives me potty.

Many thanks for the warm welcome and the pointer to the October thread.
