Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help, i am 29 weeks and have had a terrible pain in my ribs for the last few days. The doctor cant see me until next week and ive tried everything else so im now at the end of my tether.

Im sure it is where the baby is lying but i cant get him to shift for anything. Anyone got any ideas?

Try putting a bag of frozen peas on that part. Babies tend to move away from cold.

I never thought of that, thankyou i will definatly be trying it!

Don't know how the antenatal care in your area works but can you contact a midwife? They are more likely to be able to help than a doctor tbh, as they have more expertise in pregnancy problems. Don't worry about bothering them eitherm that's what they are there for!!

Actually i wanted to ask about that too because until 2 weeks ago i had a great doctors and the midwife was contactable on a work mobile 24 hours but i have just moved and had to get a new doctors and havent even met my new midwife yet but i have been told i can not have her number and when i rang to get an appointment today the doctors told me in no uncertain terms they cannot see me today they were short staffed, so in pure desperation i rang the delivery suite midwife who was lovely and said to ring back a bit later if it was no better but i feel awful going to the hospital and taking up their time when my GP or midwife should see me! What do you think what would you do?

Sorry to keep going on guys but i still have no relief and really am at a loss of what to do about this pain - am i a wimp? I went to see the doc on friday night who worried me with talk of blood clots and gave me some co-drydamol which i found really helped but i can only take at night cos it knocks me out and i cant drive etc. So i feel ok in the morn but it gets steadily worse through the day. Also it seemed better on the weekend but now sat back at work it feels worse again, im not sure if this is to do with how im sitting or that i have nothing to take my mind off it. Please anymore advice??

when i've been really uncomfortable i've found going swimming really helps. Bump and me relax. when I finish back pain, breathing, and bump pain all gone. Might be worth a try.

yeah i have been thinking about ante-natal classes actually but its finding the time, im still working full-time and have just moved and still trying to sort stuff out and then spend the rest of the time asleep! Did anyone take maternity leave earlier than they informed their employer they would because i thought id be fine until about a month before but i have another 6weeks at work and dont think i will be able to cope
