Scalp driving me mad!

Hi,
Am 16wks and have a very dry itchy scalp, it is driving me mad. I have checked for visitors (it isn't that) but can't stop scratching.
My poor scalp is raw, it even wakes me up in the night (well that and the 20 trips to the loo) am desperate for any suggestions or advice please.
Have been told not to use T gel treatment shampoo due to coal tar but is the normal kind ok?

I suffer with this, I use baby shampoo and a 'simple' branded conditioner.

Sainsburys stock both on the shelf, Tesco you have to get the conditioner from the pharmacy counter. I don't know if you can use the tgel you would have to ask the pharmacist but if you can. I found after the first week it sorted the itch but left my hair like straw so swapped to the above and have been fine ever since.
