I used mine all the time when i was overdue as i thought it was meant to help 'bring the baby down' but have since heard from a reliable source that keeping active in labour/gravity and all that jazz is a load of shit. Grr. I went 12 days overdue and got so fed up i had an extra hot madras and that got the little fucker DS out

I never sat on anything else from about 32wks. So I bounced on mind for hours each day for weeks. I don't think it does any harm if that's what you're worrying about?

I think gravity definitely helps in labour. Definitely!!! Not sure it helps to bring on labour if you're overdue though I think keeping very active from about 30wks helps baby come down into a good position.
So it may not stop you actually going overdue but definitely helps on labour. I birthed my 3 stood up and it definitely helped.

Thought i'd add the disclaimer that i was, of course, being a bit dry. I don't actually think it's a load of shit! Sit on your ball woman.. get that bebe oot
