Bit of a venting post feeling exhausted and frustrated and sick of being pregnant lol

Pregnant with my first and never been sure if I've had bh contractions before, if I do get a tightening sensation it tends to be my lower abdomen. They don't last that long and are really irregular.

But I'm not sure if it's just baby stretching. I'm overweight so the bottom of my bump is just flabby. But still feel the tightening.

Just want labour to come but getting now signs no extra discharge no mucas plug nothing. I know I've still got 3 weeks till my due date but I want it to happen now lol

That sounds like Braxton Hicks to me. I can't remember having them at all first time around. This pregnancy I've had them for weeks! The last few weeks are horrible- sympathies!

ChicaMomma · 26/03/2014 14:27

I think i may have gotten some BH over the last few days- at 28 weeks is this completely unusual?
They feel like a period pain for about 30 seconds then pass on...?

weebigmamma · 26/03/2014 14:30

Could be or could be round ligament pain. That's not too early to have Braxton Hicks, I think, but I personally don't find them painful, just mildly irritating. I'm sure everyone is different though. Check with your midwife if in doubt.

I had Braxton hicks from 24 weeks. Feels like sharp period pain and could sometimes see bump tighten especially towards the end. The pain was always gone after 30 seconds sometimes on and off for 10-20 minutes. It's just body practising for labour, or that's what I was told!
When my dd flipped from being breech to Being engaged at 34 weeks I fainted, felt like butterflies in tummy then when light headed. So I knew the difference when she moved! She's now 22 weeks and watching baby looney tunes while I have lunch! I miss my bump!

Sounds like what I've been having which is a combo of both. Baby wriggles around and sets off the BH's. I'm 39 weeks now and need to get this baby OUT! The BH's have really ramped up and are like proper contractions from 9pm-2am - agony, then nothing. Of course, then I can't bloody sleep cos I'm all wound up. I wish my waters would just break like last time then I would know!!! So frustrating.

Fingers crossed for you Rachy- be patient though! is there a pre natal yoga class you could go to nearby? to relax and just generally have a good stretch?

Laura that's exactly what they are like, period pain with a tightening.. i wonder is it a good sign if you get them early that you will do on time? no doubt it makes no difference!!!

Chica - I've been going to my yoga class weekly. The teacher is a friend of mine so she's been coming round too for 1-2-1 sessions. It does help with my restless legs - but I just can't relax at the minute.
