I have seen some here (US) where you replace the strip but reuse the actual digital part. Maybe that's what she's thinking?

yeah you are right coin. I think it was the price that threw him too - nothing that expensive could only be used once in his world.

The battery only lasts 24 hours as well. Well, at least that's when the display goes off after using it.
