Have an 11 month old and now pregnant... Reassurance needed!

Has anyone else had two so close together? My only comparison is my brother-in-law and his wife, who openly admit the hell they went through with two boys 18 months apart. And they are good kids!

I know it's going to be hard whatever age my little girl was, but I can't help but feel guilty that it's too soon for her to have a sibling. We were planning to try later this year, so maybe I'm just being silly. Still in shock I suppose!

All positive here! There's 20 months between DD2 and 3. It was a bit of a surprise when we discovered I was pg with no.3 and it took me a while to get over the shock! She's 16 months old now and an absolute joy. I would never want to be without her.

It hasn't been as hard as I feared it might be. In fact it hasn't really been hard at all. Your DD will be young enough that she'll never remember a time when it was just her and that can be a bonus. You will love the new baby just as much as your first, the love grows it doesn't have to be divided up.

My two youngest run about together now and play really nicely. They have a bond that it's a delight to witness growing.

Get a cheap double buggy off eBay or ask around friends to borrow one. You'll already have everything else you need. You'll be fine.

DS2 and DD Are 17 months apart, DD was a surprise and a major shock. I wondered how on earth I would cope. We coped fine and I now wish we had a closer age gap between DS1 and DS2 although still pretty close at 2 years and 2 months. The two youngest get on great, well they all do but the youngest two are like twins at times. There is lots of laughter, fun and never a dull moment in our madhouse. Don't get me wrong its hard work at times but well worth it. Good luck op you will be fine.

Mind are 2 years apart and no problems.

From sibling perspective I'm only 10 1/2 months older than my brother. It was great as I always had someone to play with but we were in different years at school.

12m and 7 days exactly between ds and dd.

Wasn't do bad all feeding and nappy changing out the way at once.

11 months between DS1 & DS2.
First 2 years were hard but they are 3.5 & 4.5 now and it's amazing. they are the best of friends and in the same school year so one nursery drop off and pick up! DC3 on the way now and am worried about how it will fit in with the older two as they are so close

17 months between our two girls. Not nearly as hard as you may imagine. Can be hard at times managing two so young, but get organised and it is fine. Lovely to see the relationship develop. In all honesty I found being pregnant with a toddler much much harder than toddler and baby! Don't regret it for a minute and it was all planned! Good luck and enjoy, it is fab!

I have just read all your comments out to my husband and we feel better already. He is in the forces and we have recently moved, so have the extra issue of not having friends and family around to help.

I was thinking 'We'll just have to cope' whereas now I'm thinking about how lovely it will be for them to be so close.
