Since falling of my skin has been awful. So many spots and pimpling. Has anyone else experienced this and any solutions?

Thanks

ive had terrible teenage acne back since just before we got BFP 5 months ago. face, back & chest affected. found out we're having a boy , not sure if this is related or not. I'll be watching this thread as nothing is working for me

GingerRodgers · 21/03/2014 13:48

Yes! I've always had good clear skin and only the occasional outbreak but my skin now is horrendous. It's really getting me down.
I've been using weleda nappy cream which really helps but dries my skin out a lot so I've started alternating using that with a face oil (hydrating). Just can't wait to have my face back again Sad

Scotmum83 · 21/03/2014 14:27

I'm the same as mummytobejuly2014 pimply skin especially on chin, chest and back!! It's got a bit better in the past week (wk 21). Also been blessed with extra body hair lol my bump has a lovely fluffy coating. We don't know what we're having but my instincts are saying boy. I'm just using Liz earl cleanser, toner and moisturiser (website says ok to use in pregnancy) not much you can do for hormonal spots, drying the skin out has always made my skin worse so I'm just using my normal skin routine.

mummytobejuly2014 · 21/03/2014 14:35

scotmum83 my belly has a fine fuzzy layer too! hair on head has been growing well also, meaning I have to touch up my roots more often which I hate having to do & been using ammonia free dye

So glad to see this post it's so depressing having acne, I suffered from it for years until took roaccutante which cleared it up a lot and now pregnant it's come back. I'm not sure about solutions as am always too scared to try new things on my skin incase it makes it worse, only thing can suggest to u is drink LOTS of water if u don't already. It really does make a difference in the complexion of your skin and clears it up a bit. Hope u manage to find something that works for u x

Suzietwo · 21/03/2014 20:19

Yup all three pregnancies. Terrible acne at jaw and neck and back. And scarring worse too.

mlbear · 21/03/2014 20:34

My skin was terrible during 1st trimester, I used simple skin care, cleared it right up.
I made sure I drank a ton of water to flush my skin out.
I have been told I'm having a boy, if there is any connection?

Mmolly2013 · 21/03/2014 21:00

I got bad acne since becoming pregnant so I put sudocream on my face before bed a nice layer and in the morning my pimples have reduced and skin is so soft. Try it as it's cheap and effective

Mmolly2013 · 21/03/2014 21:01

Ps I got very hairy also and I'm having a girl

NerdyBird · 22/03/2014 00:13

I've always had acne caused by PCOS. Since coming off the pill it got worse, and even more so in pregnancy. It's almost all on my chin, which is an indication it's hormonal. My DR prescribed Zineryt which is a topical antibiotic and zinc solution and that helps a bit. I also use a glycolic acid cream. Both are ok in pregnancy. The marks are the worst, I have very fair skin and get very dark red marks which take ages to fade.

Can't wait to get back on the pill!

AnythingNotEverything · 22/03/2014 00:20

I had this. I used Body Shop's tea tree skin care range and lots of foundation Wink

Teddybear33 · 22/03/2014 01:42

Thanks ladies. Mine is mostly chin and jaw. Use simple facecare already and drink stacks of water. Have tried teatree and scrubs, no improvement. Perhaps it is time for a trip to the doctors.

It should clear up as you get to around 20 weeks

whiteblossom · 22/03/2014 08:17

thanks suzie that gives me some hope! 4 weeks to go.

I found sudacream great for spots and healing them for you need to use it everyday even twice a day. It really does help.

mummytobejuly2014 · 22/03/2014 08:59

im 25wks with no improvement :(

Ohwhatsoccuring · 22/03/2014 09:25

Me too, I have the face of a hormone riddled teenager (again)
No makeup less selfies for me lol.
Thanks for the sudocrem tip, just got a little pot in one of the dreaded bounty bags.

lilone1234 · 22/03/2014 10:33

Ah I feel your pain ladies. This has been my most frustrating pregnancy symptom - worse than the fact that I only need to look at my pregnancy supplement to start gagging! My clear skin was one of the few things I was happy with appearance wise and that's straight out of the window! Far worse than I ever had as a teenager, all over my face, back and chest. Really big angry red ones too. Seems a couple of people on here and have noted they are having a boy, which is interesting!

I read that it should start to pass after the first trimester but at 15+4 there is no improvement for me yet!

Mintymoomoo · 22/03/2014 12:06

Same as very spotty back, had with all my pregnancies (on my 4th) and I have 3 girls, don't know yet what this one is except this time spots also appearing on chin and jaw

Inbl00m · 22/03/2014 13:01

I went to the doc about this and they will refer you to a dermatologist if your spots are worse than regular pg acne, which should clear up as time goes on. My GP said mine was normal but did prescribe a helpful gel and now it's cleared up a lot. First 3 months were awful!
