Grin

Exposed to chicken pox last week, and still in first trimester. As ive never had CP before I had to give blood to be tested for immunity and lo.....im not immune having never had it like I told you doc

Today ive had the vaccine and it took four needles to get it all into me. Four bloody injections. My arms are like pin cushions. Even the doc was grimmacing and saying he has never had to inject so much into someones arm before.

Feeling properly sorry for myself and next week it will all happen again (needles not vaccine!) With the MW.

Boo hiss.

Don't worry, they put a canula needle (one) in and change the tubes over so you only get speared once! It doesn't really hurt too much as a nurse does it (docs get less practice).

Have had many, many blood tests pre-pregnancy and pregnancy. Grin Only ever one hole in the arm per time!

I also have to inject daily clexane so I must admit compared to a year ago I'm a bit 'whatevs' about needles.

Yuck! Feeling for you. I am not at all squeamish about needles but I also had an experience recently where I had to get jabbed 4 times in a row and it's really not nice. I second the thing about nurses taking blood though- most of them are brilliant at it and you should only feel a little nip. Hope you're feeling OK now. x

I could let myself develop a right little thing about needles and having blood taken if I let myself, I have to actively have a little word every time I have bloods to get myself to man up!

It's horrible isn't it ?! Luckily in the main in pregnancy bloods are taken by people with a lot of experience so fingers crossed you won't get pin cushioned by a dr again!

Yep! Every morning 6am. :)

I remember when I was 23 I broke some ribs and battled it out with cocodamol at A&E because I didn't fancy an injection. So I used to hate them!

But it's weirdly easier doing them myself?!?!!
