How often did u see midwife after 37 weeks? And engagement/labour

Hi ladies I'm 37 weeks and have been to midwife this morning and she said she won't see me again for another 3 weeks. I thought you were meant to go weekly from now? Don't get me wrong it's good as she said pregnancy is all going well and it's just a case of waiting for my boy to come out now. How often did your midwives see u at full term? Also she said he is 1/5 engaged, did any of you go into labour without a fully engaged baby? thanks for reading xxx

I think I saw her at 38 then 40 then 41 (ds born at 42)

If she wrote 1/5 then I think it's 1/5 palpable so 4/5 engaged (ie she can feel 1/5)

Ds was engaged early but was no longer engaged at 41 which I gather is quite strange. I don't think he was fully engaged when I was in labour as he kept moving from back to back then front etc

is this your first? Round here they would see you again at 40 with your first but any after that not until 41. Though I have been told that if baby hasn't turned up by my EDD they will give me a ring to see if I want to come in for a sweep.

Yeah, fewer appointments with a second baby, although it might be more if you're higher risk.

I had 36 weeks with GP, 38 then will have another at 40 and 41 if I go over.

Your book should have a list of expected appointments in it somewhere.

Pretty sure I was meant to see either community mw or hospital mw once a week from 36 weeks or so. I had lots of appt though as I was out of area for the hospital and I think they doubled up some of the community things. In second pg had a position scan at 37 wk (dc1 was undiagnosed breech). But my babies came at 37 and 39 weeks in the end.

Im cureently 23wks and i have to see mine once a month :/ inbetween all the hospital trips...highly annoying as i thought i was done with it all lol im high risk preeclampsia due to bad kidneys though and now i have a blocked kidney :@ so gawd knows whats gonna happen, as far as they are concerned with lil man he is fine, its more me they are worried about.....whereas im more worried about him than myself :p xx
