No not to come out (well that too would be nice!) but it hasn't moved much today at all and I keep panicking (10 movements in 10 hours and all that) what's guaranteed to get a good strong movement out of it?

Have a warm bath.

Jiggle about a bit.

Have a snack and then sit down quietly.

Play music.

HTH

lunavix · 15/08/2006 19:39

I jiggle it around (then panic about in utero shaking baby syndrome! ) which usually works but isn't at the moment.

Will try a bath in a sec...

Good luck let us know how it goes

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/08/2006 19:44

Very sugary/sweet drink/juice and lay/sit quietly for half an hour.

newmum10 · 15/08/2006 21:22

Coffee & chocolate did it for mine! (Also deciding to get an early night would guarantee hours of baby movements!!How do they know when you're trying to sleep??????)

SpaceCadet · 15/08/2006 21:27

get down on all fours and rock back and forth..dont laugh but the mw told me it works!
lie on your side for 20 mins.
drink a glass of cold water.
if all else fails and you are worried, dont hesitatye to go into hospital for a ctg.

bigfatbump · 16/08/2006 09:27

Go to bed and try to sleep, that used to always wake mine up.

Jimjams2 · 16/08/2006 09:35

any movement yet? If not ring labour ward and go in for monitering...

1Baby1Bump · 16/08/2006 09:40

i find mine moves when: (am 37 weeks)
me and dh try and have sex (very rare tho!)
im in the bath
i want to sleep
i eat a chocolate bar
ds climbs on me (so same as prodding bump i suppose)
i play some music in to him
i sit in an awkward position, like knees pulled up as far as you can manage

olivo · 16/08/2006 11:24

luna - any luck with movements?

JessaJam · 16/08/2006 11:30

I was told that once you reach late pregnancy the movements do reduce a bit, because there is much less room for them to wriggle about in ...

That said...if you're worried call MW and get monitored...

kiskidee · 16/08/2006 11:35

went to a tai-chi class once and the instructor went thru a series of moves that he said would stimulate the deep abdominal muscles (ie increase blood flow to them) and baby got moving. the increased blood flow makes them wake up if asleep.

you could try holding on to the back of a chair and do deed knees bend with legs wide apart. would get the muscles in the pelvic area to move. don't worry won't induce labour or anything. i did loads of these all thru pg as i went to body pump class till i could hardly move. was in the pool the 36 hrs before i gave birth.

lunavix · 16/08/2006 18:46

Thanks everyone!
Tried everything to no avail, was just starting to panic and it moved itself

It's not been a big mover anyways so I do try not to panic.
