Just been to hospital to check out a bleed. They gave me steroid injections and kept me in over night. I'm 34+3, could this mean that my baba will come early?

They are giving steroid injection to mature the babies lungs just in case the baby comes early.

I have the steroid injection with two of my pregnancies at 33weeks both times, they both then stayed put and arrived at 38 and 39 weeks respectfully.

So having the steroid injection does not mean they will come early, just that they might come early.

I had the steroid injections at 29 weeks following a significant bleed. It is given in case baby does end up coming early, as willitbe says.
In my case, DS arrived at 31+5 because I had bled significantly many times over 3 weeks and that had irritated my uterus into labour. But having had the steroids made such a difference, and DS was only on ventilation support (C-PAP) for a few hours the first night, then he was breathing unaided.
I hope your baba stays cooking for a while longer yet, but if they do come early, you are almost at 35 weeks with the steroids too, so they should do very well Thanks

I had some bleeding week 26, was in and our of hospital with an over night stay, and in the end they gave me steroid injection to be on safe side, even if they weren't really worried that he'd come early. Was just a precaution.

Went full term.
