Pets, Are yours never leaving you alone?

I'm 9+2, and my cat won't leave me alone!!! He's following me everywhere, including half way to work. Since I got home from work at 1pm, he's been sat on my lap or curled up next to me with his head on my belly. He's not normally like this, he'll usually just come and say hello, meow for food and go hide behind the sofa and nap.

What are your experiences, I'm just curious??

I'm 35+2 and my dog follows me everywhere. Toilet, bath, kitchen, bedroom... Everywhere. I'm sure he can tell someone new is coming soon and making sure I don't forget him

Same for me, 38 weeks now and my dog won't leave my side, when I go to bed she curls up next to my bump. Usually when we take her for a walk she runs ahead with OH but now she won't leave me!

37 weeks and my cats have turned into limpets and won't leave me alone my dogs have got majorly protective of me :)
They mistook my dp for an intruder when I was about 15 weeks (he had a top stuck on his head) and "went " for him pinning him in a corner while I wet myself laughing
They didn't contact with teeth just knocked him over barking like demon dogs from hell about an inch from him
These are two admitidly huge dogs but soppy buggers
Be good if i am ever home and somebody decideds to wander in x

Our cats have taken to sleeping in bed with me rather than down stairs where they normally sleep. Have done since I was about 8 weeks.
They rarely leave my side through the day and like to stare now too...
It's a little wierd sometimes lmao x

I'm like catnip to one of my 2 cats right now. It doesn't help that I'm slightly hormonal and so don't really want them to touch me, they just seem so needy lol!

Thanks everyone, I thought his lordship was being weird. He's currently curled up next to me snoring away. It was rather peculiar that he stared at me the whole time I was eating my dinner.

i swear my baby will not be able to sleep without my cat purring over them. My cat loves sitting on bump and bump loves it as they kick all the time..

Same here, I'm sure my cat knew I was pregnant before I did! He waits for me while I get heave myself out of bed & as soon as my backside hits the settee he gets himself curled up on me with his head resting on bump.

I've always been his favourite, even more so now! Although until baby arrives...!!

My cats don't seem to have noticed so far! One of them took to stalking my laundry (underware mainly) and sniffing it just before I got my bfp (that was how I new I was pg, he did the same sniffing thing last pg too) but since then it's all gone back to normal, maybe itl change when I have bigger bump? (16 weeks now)

Our little kitty is exactly the same :) its nothing to worry about but i know they can make younfeel smothered lol he wont go for his cuddles with hubby nemore just me me me! And of course wen im sleeping i wake up to him laying on me! We bought him up to be a cuddly lil man who love his cuddles but right from erly on in pg he always been with me. I kinda got used to it and think that hes upset when he doesnt come for a cuddle now :/ xx

Yep, my two cats have been my constant shadows from very early in my pregnancy, particularly the female. I can't sit on the couch, go the loo, have a shower or sleep in peace. If they want lap cuddles they insist on standing all over my bump so I have to shove them further down.

Our cats were the same when I was pregnant with ds1. They were particularly concerned about me going to the loo on my own - they'd follow me upstairs, and sit on the edge of the bath supervising me, and then follow me downstairs again.

If I ever managed to go upstairs without them noticing, they'd come dashing upstairs in a clear panic that I might have had an unsupervised wee!

They didn't bother when I was pregnant with ds2 or ds3 - clearly I had proved that I could be trusted to wee on my own!

My mum has 4 cats, 3 boys and one girl. The girl cat knew I was preg before I did and likes to sit halfway on my bump and half next to me. She stays with me the whole time I visit my mums and sleeps either in the bed or like on guard duty from the boys on the end of my bed. She gives them a good telling off if they come near me too! One of the other boy cats hated me before I was preg, never ever let me touch him but now he's as soft as it gets, purrs next to me and rubs against my legs when I brush my teeth in the morning. He's so lovely now! My mums dog constantly barks when he sees me now and I HAVE to say hello and give him a hug when I go round. Crazy thing haha. How strange animals can be but I love them for these things

Yes! Both of them have to come into the bathroom with me in the morning when I am on the loo and sit staring and purring at me! They were semi feral when we got them and not lap/cuddly cats but since being pregnant they have both sat and laid on me and 'talk' to me a lot more. I think they will be disgusted at a noisy, smelly little person invading their house! :-)

My cats dont seem to have spidey senses but its freaking me out that dd (2.3) keeps saying "mummys got a baby in her tummy" even though (1) I dont have a bump yet and (2) she knows nothing about the pregnancy - we do not discuss it in front of her.

A bit different, but my mums horse has taken a shine to me whereas she was never bothered before! When given the opportunity she nuzzles me with her head and rubs my bump gently with her nose and lips!

I think cats and dogs can hear the heartbeat? And of course you have a lot of hormones and smell different, and are warmer.

Fwiw, my older sister knew my mum was pregnant before she did also, and announced it to all and sundry.

And they say never work with children and animals!

My youngest cat used to sleep by my feet but for the last few weeks has slept in front of my bump (15w2d so there is still room). She seems so content and quite often puts a paw just where baby is. Adorable. Think it'll be a shick when the little one arrives and disturbs their peaceful slumber.

I find it quite cute how they follow you everywhere though :p all i see is a head n two paws when i have a bath :p then he starts meowing cus hes not big enough to climb up lol hes just come over to me now 0.0 i dunt mind him in me bump, he mainky likes to sit on me chest n rub his head all over ma face ;p xx

I get timeshared between my boy and girl cat. Boy cat is a bastard and used to nip me when i first got pregnant until he felt the baby move and now he's turned into a big softie.

Girl cat had sympathy morning sickness, which I could have done without. But was constantly by my side. She likes to wake the bump up at 6.30am each morning.

My cat is doing the same - she done it on DD1 as well. She never meows but now talks to me whenever she sees me. She too follows very closely when I go upstairs & scratches the bedroom door to get in to me at night.
On my first she used to climb very carefully on to my belly, knead gently & DD would kick back :0)

Some of these made me giggle. Thanks ladies. The furry child keeps bringing me "presents" too. MIL not impressed as she freaks at anything smaller than a cat!!!

My jack Russell has been protective from the first right weeks. He gets super growly at other dogs which is a pain and I hope stops after the birth. Even if he means well :)

He has wanted to lie next to my stomach and recently taken to putting his head on top of it. He is also super gentle and knows not to jump on me. Always a cuddly dog but he definitely likes to snuggle the bump now.

Someone needs to tell my cat about this. Our mog has always favoured DH but since I've been pregnant it's getting extreme and she actively blanks me! I guessing the baby is going to be a girl who dotes on her dad as well.
