Has anyone been on one pre-labour and what was it like?

I went on one. It was ok. They went over the different stages, drugs that you can get, midwife led units. The feeding one was good but mainly focused on bf so the folk who were planning on ff got a bit fed up.

Our area offers 'parentcraft classes', two sessions of two hours each - I think it depends on who you get, we didn't bother doing to the second night as it was pretty useless, she was just rambling on without plan, had obviously never looked at the slides she was showing (half of which were NCT ones and the other half American so a lot of the medical terms used were different to here) and just kept on banging on about what was hospital policy and how there wasn't much point putting things in your birthplan as you really had 'no choice in the matter' (e.g. ARM if you're 3cm dilated and waters haven't gone).
