Heartburn :-(

So now the awful sickness and tiredness are waning (yay) the dreaded heartburn is here with a vengeance.

With DS I went through a bottle of Gaviscon a week and still struggled with it.

Any tips on natural remidies this time? I'm medicated up to my eyeballs already due to previous PET so don't want to add much else to my system if i can help it

Thanks x

Im also drugged up so I can sympathise but honestly the only relief I get is from ranitidine....it's amazing stuff!
Gaviscon is crap!

I would try a large glass of milk and some dry cream crackers. It usually helps me. :)

Thanks for the quick responses. It's really doing my head in now and I'm only 14 weeks :-(

I had horrendous heartburn with my last DC and it's currently starting again at only 5 weeks!
Milk will make it worse. It feels better briefly as it's cold and soothing but believe me, it's actually acid forming and the heartburn will return with a vengeance.
The only things that really worked for me was Gaviscon, Rennies etc. I did get some relief by sipping cold water with lemon juice, again counterintuitive but does work. Love hearts work a bit but they are so sugary I felt my teeth coated so I preferred to have a Rennie instead.
I believe Ranitidine is a miracle worker- I didn't take it as I didn't bother going to docs and didn't realise that it was suitable for pregnant women at the time.

Really cold water soothed it a bit for me. Other than that, Gaviscon was the only help!
