Hi there

I've got an 18 month old daughter who is still breastfeeding so my periods have not returned to normal, though the last two months I've had a slight bit of bleeding on a day each month which I thought could be my periods slowly returning.

I have separated from my husband and we last had sex in August and didn't use protection (we were still together then)

About a month after having sex I felt tired and nauseous so took a pregnancy test but it was negative. I even retook a test a little while later to be sure and again negative. These were just morrisons own brand though!

Anyway over Christmas I felt really tired and breathless at times and so the doctor tested my iron levels and also thyroid, all normal. If I was pregnant would these blood tests have shown I was pregnant or would they have had to have tested separately for that?

Reason I ask is that a few days ago I was laid in bed after all the chaos of running around after my little girl and I felt what felt exactly like fetal movements, not gas. It was so strange, like actual kicking/fluttering feeling. Then these past few mornings I've woke up feeling nauseous and this morning I swear I saw my stomach moving! Ive still not lost all the baby weight and in fact look about 20 weeks pregnant!

I've read online that pregnancy tests you buy don't work later in pregnancy? Anyone know if that's true?

I suppose I should go to doctors! I just feel like if I am pregnant I'd be well over 30 weeks as an estimation and surely It'd be obvious? I feel a bit mad!

So voyeuristic but also shamelessly placemarking!

catbus · 19/03/2014 14:06

Oh lord! Just saw this thread and now I'm unashamedly hooked!!! Helllllllooooooo. Op???

TeaAndALemonTart · 21/03/2014 22:40

The one where the OP had tummy ache then had a baby was a troll but ended up in classics before anyone realised I think.

KeithTheCat · 23/03/2014 09:29

oh no tea I didn't know that. I liked that one as well.

someone on here has definitely had a baby without know she was pregnant, or found out very late on. was it mummypig ?

lighteningmcmama · 23/03/2014 11:18

I think it was stealthbear or somethinglike that. Also on that community midwives programme on the BBC there was a 20yo who found out she was pregnant with 4 weeks to go Shock

bonzo77 · 23/03/2014 11:29

I think that stealth thread was ages ago. And a hairy handed bridge dweller.

lighteningmcmama · 23/03/2014 11:58

Yes bonzo you're right it was ages ago...I'm hoping that that isn't the one that was a troll! It was an amazing story!

bonzo77 · 23/03/2014 12:41

I'm not 100% certain. But I think it got pulled and the poster banned. Can't remember if she was the actual OP. There were 2 MNers, stealthpolarbear and strandedbear or strandedpolarbear. One has gone (or NC'd) and the other is still here.

usmama · 23/03/2014 14:50

OP def see a doc esp if not pregnant + pulsating abdomen

lighteningmcmama · 23/03/2014 15:44

Interesting, I was wondering after I posted whether actually the name was stranded not stealth....So that story is doubtful then? What a shame, I always remember that one it was so amazing!! I did think it was odd that the birth story post linked to her personal Facebook page where you could see pics of her pregnant but unaware though...

anyoneplease · 23/03/2014 15:52

.

samsmother · 25/03/2014 00:12

OP WHERE ARE YOU??

BikeRunSki · 25/03/2014 00:16

Stealthpolarbear is still here
