Is it possible for your waters to go before your plug?

Just curious really. My logic makes me think that waters wouldn't go unless plug had gone as the plug would be plugging the exit point for the waters.....,am I right? :-)

yes waters can go before plug.

don't know logistics to it but it can

JustDanni · 12/03/2014 18:18

I think they can go with a small trickle but I imagine it would take a while.
I'm just guessing.

Mine did. Plug didn't start to go until after a sweep at the hospital.

Runrogrogrun · 12/03/2014 18:19

My waters flooded and my plug went much later

Had a huge gush of water and never saw my plug (thankfully).

My waters have gone at 30,22 and 14 weeks. It's completely possible.

Yep. My waters gushed, and then plug came out about 30 minutes later. I was on MN at the time Grin

I've yet to see my plug and this is dc3 for me. It can come away slowly so not noticeable. Having said that my waters gave only gone while in labour before.

lucyfluff · 12/03/2014 19:05

Ive never seen any of mine either and DC4 is coming in Aug!

Waters with first DS went at home to start labour, the other two were during contractions...infact one was in the face of a midwife :/ but that is a whole different story!!!!

mummy1973 · 12/03/2014 19:16

Never saw a plug with my two!

Mummyk1982 · 12/03/2014 20:18

Thank you :-)

I never saw a plug and my waters flooded out like a tsunami when I least expected it! Didn't even have contractions until I was induced.
Most bizarre experience.

WillowB · 12/03/2014 21:12

Didn't see a plug either. Went to the loo felt a gush & saw blood in the toilet bowl. My waters went immediately after.

ToriaPumpkin · 12/03/2014 21:21

My waters went in a big gush and, I assume, took my plug with them (I was 9 hours into a very intense induction and full of morphine). When I went to the loo an hour or so later there was some bloody mucous but I never saw the proper jellyfish-style plug.
