Anyone taken Clarithromycin?

Hi all. I'm 23 weeks and have a nasty viral infection. I've been prescribed Clarithromycin 500mg by my doctor, however a google search suggests this isn't safe during pregnancy. Has anyone taken this during pregnancy?

I took it for a chest infection when pregnant with DS in 2011. All was fine. I think they err on the side of caution as obviously can't test these things on pregnant women. It's important that you get better, so it's a matter of weighing up risk. They really wouldn't prescribe it so readily if those risks were significant. Hope you feel better soon!
