dating of pregnancy

Hi, not posted on my own issues (!) before but am slightly confused and worried and need some re-assurance. had been on Depo for 24 week period came off in March, has first period april and then 10th May. I did a pregnancy test on the 5th June which was positive yippee, making my due date 14/02/07.

However, had my 12-14 week scan the other day and they put me back to the 23/02/06 which kind of confused me as when I did the test it would have only been three weeks since my period? I suppose I'm only worried as my sister had scan where they put her back two weeks even though she was adamant that wasn't the case and then she miscarried.

Hope that all makes sense and any words of encouragement would be gratefully recieved?!

Sorry Bow - this is the first time I've seen this. The hospital changed my dates around a couple of times and only gave me a more definite one after the 20 week scan when baby had grown a bit more.
Try not to worry too much - and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

You've done the hardest part I think, getting to 12 weeks.

i went for what i thought was my 11 week scan last tuesday, and was only 6 +4. i was frantic as i thought there was no way i could be that early, as waould have done the test at about 3 weeks ( being about 10 days after conception)
So im sort of in the same boat, scared in case the baby just hasnt grown!

I was on the pill, but as last period was in may i assumed i was about 11 week`!!
the nurse was crap, when i asked if a test would have been too soon at 3 weeks she said ' it could have been'. i dont think she had a clue!
so no help really, just to let you know your not alone!

Got a scan in 3 weeks, im scared to death.

I was told that for an early scan (less than 12 weeks) the error rate was +-3 days, for a scan at 12 weeks it was +- 7 days, so the change of date does seem to be roughly within the expected error margin.

Is possible you got positive pg test 3 weeks after period too. You may have ov earlier than you thought. Tests are often more sensitive than they claim too so may have showed up early. I got my bfp 10 days after ovulation, though it was very faint.

Hi Bow - I have had a similar experience. My dates have changed at every scan Ive had... I have had 3 so far and have my 12 week scan on the 22.08. But according to the last scan I will be 13 weeks on the 22.08.... I was worried incase the baby was too big and was growing to much (I dont think they tend to tell you much and when its your first time you get more worried - well I do!)... But I think it is just hard to determine the dates at this stage... congrat's and hope you have a good preganancy. xx
