Aromatherapy during labour

Has anyone ever done/used this? Could you talk me through (idiots guide!) where you bought your oils, which scents you used, how you mixed them, how you used them on the day (inhaled, on a flannel, massage etc). I guess I am just looking for some that either smell nice in general and any that are known to aid relaxtion or increase positivity that kind of thing in labour.

I'm not in labour- but hope I will be soon (38+3)!! Have just started using lavender at home- am putting about 5 drops on 1-2 tablespoons of water in an oil burner- the smell is so relaxing!!!
I've also bought from Neal's Yard an aromatherapy mix which I think is called woman's blend, and some natural oil (think its baby oil) from them as a base- their website tells you how to use the mixes (ie how many drops in how much base oil for massage, or how many drops in water for use in an oil burner)- I'm planning on using this during labour- for massage from hubby and to put on a hankie to inhale (naturally hospitals don't allow oil burners as it's a naked flame- though I think you can get electronic ones). Like you I was daunted by the choice, so I just asked in Neal's Yard and the lady was really helpful :-)
