Fell over in a playground thus morning running after dd who was heading for the swings. I stepped in a hole and went flying, landed on knees and wrists and then flat on my bump. Now I'm in labour ward having mild contractions. Terrified that this is the start of labour.
I've also got 2 cut up knees and have done something to my ankle and wrist.
Bollocks.

Oh no! At least your in the right place now for labour, if it happens, and to sort out your wounds. Good luck and have some Thanks

Cupcake11 · 06/03/2014 15:08

You poor thing - hope you and baby are ok!

Inglori0us · 06/03/2014 15:10

Thanks. Hoping the contractions stop.
Is there something they give to stop them? Kind of been left to my own devices as there's an emergency.

Oh no, that sounds really painful! Hope your start feeling better soon. Thanks
I fell over badly at 26 weeks and contractions started, scared the absolute beejesus out of me (we're high risk for preterm labour anyway) but they gave me an injection of something which stopped the contractions, and then I had to have an anti-D injection as I'm rhesus neg. So yes, I think they can stop the contractions sometimes.

Ooof that made me wince! So much so I dont know what else to say!

dats · 06/03/2014 15:57

Oh you poor thing, I am almost as preg as you and felt sick at the thought of landing on bump. Hopefully the contractions are just as result of the shock and they'll wear off. Hope you're being well looked after. Rest up.

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 06/03/2014 16:18

Oh you poor thing! That was one of my fears, after I fell in a massive hole at 5 months pregnant. Had other issues later so wasn't outside that much in later pregnancy, but managed to fall of a step when ds was 6 weeks, luckily had just put the car seat down, have a massive horrible scar right down my shin now. And I was so good and didn't pick the scab, so most annoyed at that.
I am very accident prone.
I think they give you steroids to help the babies lungs if the contractions don't stop but hope they do and it's stays till its fully cooked. Grin

PenguinsEatSpinach · 06/03/2014 17:16

Poor you. I hope it settles down soon.

I am 33 weeks now and can really relate. I had a fall a fww weeks ago but managed to flip over and land on my back/ankle (owwwww).

At least if it does kick off you are in the right place, and far enough along for outcomes to be generally really good.

CristaBell · 06/03/2014 17:21

:( Just wanted to say I hope you and baby are ok and the contractions stop soon. x

really1234 · 06/03/2014 17:24

Hope you're doing ok. I had a big fall at 33 weeks and bruised knees, elbows, hands, nose and chin! I pretty much see-sawed on my bump. Thankfully DH was with me. Baby went very quiet for a while but was soon normal again.

Thankfully my pride was hurt more than anything serious.

lunar1 · 06/03/2014 17:29

I hope everything is settling down op and you and your baby are ok.

LottieJenkins · 06/03/2014 17:31

Sending positive thoughts and vibes........

Inglori0us · 06/03/2014 17:58

Thanks everyone.
Contractions have pretty much stopped and cervix is closed but baby is a bit unhappy. Hoping to get let out tonight if he settles down. He's moving lots though.

Really don't fancy a night on the ward.

Both knees are very scabby now!

Dsis had a fall at about 36 weeks, she turned to go up a step missed and fell forward. She landed flat on her bump and bounced straight back up. Baby was fine even with the fact she went into early labour at 30 weeks, which spontaneously stopped. He was finally born 5 weeks later all healthy.

I hope they let you home and you can rest your knees

Inglori0us · 07/03/2014 08:25

Got released last night. No more contractions but EVERYTHING HURTS. I'm seeing my midwife later and baby seems fine. :)

Really glad to hear that you're both ok, that's fantastic news! Smile Really awful about the pain though, hope you feel better soon.
