Hello, I am after reassurance mostly.

I am 9 weeks pregnant with hardly anything in the way of symptoms. Tender boobs most days (but not all), some tiredness (but I'm always tired) and hunger. However I am on progesterone which could cause all of that anyway. I have had perhaps one day of feeling a bit sick and body has not changed at all.

I had a missed miscarriage last year at 7 weeks and I'm terrified due to the lack of symptoms that the same is happening again. I did have a seven week scan that was fine, but I know a pregnancy can stop even after that.

At the same time, when I was pregnant with my son four years ago, I didn't have many symptoms then, either! But it was so long ago I think I have forgotten how I felt in myself at the time.

I am going a bit bonkers and I don't really have time/money to get a private scan (also a bit scared of finding out something's wrong at one), so today I would like to put my head in the sand by finding out that lots of you had absolutely wonderful pregnancies with no symptoms!

I have been pregnant 3 times the first was with my son I didn't feel pregnant until he kicked at 16 weeks and I had no symptoms until preeclampsia hit me at 33 weeks, my other 2 pregnancy's ended in miscarrige and I had every single symptom you could get x

dats · 06/03/2014 00:10

I'm 33+1 with my first and felt almost completely normal until SPD turned up at 23 weeks. No sickness, fleeting nausea, maybe three episodes of gagging while cleaning teeth. Went off coffee. But really not a lot and obviously I was scrutinising everything. Prior to this I'd had a mc at 6w and no symptoms then either.

Don't worry. Have a scan if you want to, I did at 9w because I couldn't believe I could be feeling so 'normal'. And it did help. But mostly it's about distracting yourself. It does get easier, especially when you start feeling regular movements.

Congrats Smile

My first child was the result of a basically symptomless pregnancy. Until I got to the end of the third tri, I'd had no symptoms, just a bump. Got a bit of carpal tunnel and swelling but it was the height of a very hot summer. I was tired though in the first tri.

Second time round I had a hint of nausea, but not tiredness at all, forgot I was pregnant until the carpal tunnel rocked up in the third tri.

This time I've been feeling sick non-stop since I found out, exhausted, agonising boobs and conversely it's made me really paranoid about this baby Smile we can't win, can we!

My mum carried TWINS and didn't even realise she was pg until 13+ weeks. She had 2 episodes of spotting and put them down to irregular periods. Finally twigged. Went for a scan, they said "there are 4 legs" and she thought her symptomlessness was down to a genetic anomoly. Dr was like "no... it's either twins and one is very big or triplets - just need to count the babies...".

Just goes to show!

Such a relief to read this! I'm feeling the same - zero symptoms so far apart from an annoying head cold (very early days though - 8 weeks on Sunday). I did another test at the start of the week to check I hadn't dreamed it and that the midwife would tell me off for wasting their time!

ShadowFall · 06/03/2014 13:19

DS1 - bit more tired than usual, but until he got big enough for me to feel him kicking, the only other symptom was not having any periods. Although my beta-HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels were abnormally low, which may account for some of the lack of symptoms.

DS2 - improved sense of smell, bit more tired than usual, and again, until he got big enough for me to feel him kicking, the only other symptom was not having any periods.

Im 21 weeks pregnant with my first, and i can honestly say i have had zero symptoms so far of being pregnant! (sorry some pregnant ladies may hate to hear this), but i had NO sickness at all, NO tender breasts, NO dizzyness, nothing except an enormous ever growing bump!! I know i should definitely count my blessings, and this might change as i go into the third trimester. To those of you who are worried about not having symptoms, all i can say is dont. Every pregnancy is different and my bub seems perfectly healthy (just had 20 week scan) - wriggling and kicking loads now, so def know he/she is there.

The only sign i found out i was pregnant was a positive test at the beginning.

satintaupe · 06/03/2014 16:08

I had none of the usual symptoms and I have a healthy nine month old. I had no sickness, no cravings, no dizziness and no tender breasts.

flamingtoaster · 06/03/2014 16:12

I didn't know I was pregnant with DS until I was seven and a half weeks because then I had a pregnancy test prior to having my wisdom teeth out as my cycles had been all over the place and they didn't want to give me an anaesthetic. I'd had a bad backache which was either implantation or because I had been lifting flagstones because we had a mole underneath - and occasional slight nausea at 4.00 in the afternoon cured by eating. With my DD again I didn't have any symptoms (that time I knew to eat every afternoon before the nausea had a chance to start).

dimdommilpot · 06/03/2014 16:49

I didnt have any symptoms at all with DD1, she is now 3.4, DD2 is due in 4 weeks and again nothing other than sense of smell in the early days! 2 things have been a reminder that im pregnant, no periods and my expandin waist line.
Good luck with your pregnancy.

perfectview · 06/03/2014 17:02

I had two pregnancies with very few symptoms apart from tiredness, bump, no periods and kicking.

Both DDs born good weights and healthy.

I remember feeling just as nervous but it probably means you will have an enjoyable pregnancy!

ToriaPumpkin · 06/03/2014 17:13

I'm almost 32 weeks into my second pregnancy and the only symptom I've had either time has been tiredness and heartburn at odd times (generally after chocolate which sucks as I'll be due to give birth just after Easter) until SPD kicked in in the second trimester.

Good luck!

DorotheaHomeAlone · 06/03/2014 18:54

I felt like you a couple of months ago. No real symptoms, totally expected a blank screen at the scan. I never got morning sickness, just felt a little queasy for a few days at 9wks. Even that passed when I got into a regular snacking regime! I'm nearly 20 wks and bump has just appeared this week. Finally feel pregnant and I'm actually half way through! I cried at the 12wk scan the second I saw my baby and mostly out of surprise and relief!

fatpony · 06/03/2014 21:42

Same here OP. 8 weeks pregnant but pretty much zero symptoms (bar some tiredness but working hard right now), got a bit anxious a week ago as not having booking in till 12 weeks and wanted reassurance but fingers crossed everything is ok and I guess we are the lucky ones altho nausea efc can hit any time!

ShoeWhore · 06/03/2014 21:49

OP I had mcs before I had my babies so I know exactly where you are coming from - remember it's very unusual to mc after you have seen a heartbeat though. (so much so that if I'd not had the history of mc my hospital would have been happy not to bother with a 12 week scan after a successful 8 week scan)

I was so symptom free with dc3 that I didn't even know I was pg until I was 8 weeks. Blush Didn't even feel tired. Definitely no nausea.

With my other two pgs I had far more symptoms but they didn't really kick in until about 8-9 weeks. So be careful what you wish for Wink

miki123 · 06/03/2014 21:51

I started an almost identical thread a few months back with exactly the same concerns (only symptoms were tiredness & on and off sore breasts)...and i am now nearly 28 weeks and all is well :-). I was so convinced that i wasn't really pregnant that even after the 12 week scan i did another pregnancy test as i somehow convinced myself that it was all a big mistake (my partner thought i was ACTUALLY losing the plot)....it's only natural to be concerned however having no/very little symptoms is really not anything to worry about - we are the LUCKY ones!! :-) i wish you all the best and try and hope that you're able to enjoy this magical time.
