How will I know when the baby moves?

I'm 16 weeks so realise this is probably a bit early but I've felt tickles and flutters like butterfly wings low down and wondered what this could be. Unlikely to be movement I know, so perhaps you could share with me what early movement felt like for you? And when did you feel it? Thanks.

Early movements felt like that to me, around them20 week mark for my first a wee bit earlier for my second.

I didn't feel a thing until about 24 weeks, so when I did there was no mistake, lol

That's amazing! I can't believe that it might really be it! Have a huge grin now :-D

Felt like bubbles popping. First pg was around 20 weeks, second pg around 18 weeks. Easier to recognise second time. 28 weeks tomorrow and it feels like a belly full of arms and legs! Grin

I didnt feel proper movements until 21/22 weeks!

At the 20wk scan he was going mad & I couldn't feel it, turns out he was kicking in the way :)

It started with one very definite prod beside my belly button Grin

Hubby felt it a week later on holiday, he had hus head on my tummy & baby kicked his ear!

Such special, exciting times!

Don't rush it, once baby gets going, you'll wish for peace! Mine liked to do starjumps at 2am!!

I felt my baby move at about 13 weeks! It was a tickly, bubbly sensation low down at the side Smile

So, I feel the baby move a lot (if that's what it is) but not every day yet. Is that normal for 16 weeks?

Everyone is different. Sometimes it depends in where the placenta is too.

From about 17/18 weeks I felt little flutters/bubbles, so it sounds like what you are feeling is baby moving about! I used to maybe feel it every few days or so, they are so little at that point that they do a lot of movement that you just don't notice :)

FossilMum · 04/03/2014 12:00

I think flutters is how I first felt it, but don't remember at what stage - I think around 3-4 months. Wait till you see the little hand and footprints on your belly! I swear mine did backflips in there at one point.

Sounds like baba to me. This is my first and i'm 20+3. I felt bubble from about 16 weeks and got my first definate kick at 19+6. I had my 20 week scan yesterday and the movement I felt corresponded to what we saw happening on the scan. It really makes your day doesn't it?

ScarletStar · 04/03/2014 12:38

Everyone is different and will even have different times of the day when you get more movement. :) I felt my first movements at 17 weeks, congratulations and enjoy!
