What I find horrid is people criticising other mothers for making different choices for their different family. No harm done to anyone, Cersai, when someone makes a choice about baby clothes that you wouldn't make.

Exactly, I did say that earlier on, I see things all the time on here I personally don't agree with. However, I wouldn't start criticizing unless I thought harm would come to the child, as what right have I got to say that the parent is wrong and im right??! As each parent knows their child better then anyone else, its only baby clothes for goodness sake!! As long as the baby is clean, warm, dry and comfy that's all that matters :)

Ps
Both of my ds wore proper clothes during the day most days and I thought it was rather odd keep my child in a baby grow as id always associated then with sleeping.
so yup at a few days old both had a pair of joggers on or jeans. Eldest had the cutest little set on from mams and papas which consisted of shirt chinos and a cardi. They are made for babies. They were soft and he didn't look uncomfortable in any way whatsoever.

Do what you want to do.

Ps its not easy having a child with sn and a baby but you sound like a fab mum Flowers

mollycoddle childrenswear are updating their website at the moment, they are on fb tho so look them up. and the link takes you to where they are selling through folksy and is the dino dress my dd has, starts in 0-3mths and goes up to age 7. they are generously sized imo but you can specofy size or check with her what size is besr. also i asked her to make matching knickers (to go over nappy) in the same material and she did at no extra cost :)

Aww thanks MrsDeVere me and hubby have wanted another baby for a long time but have waited until we think the time is "best" (as don't think there is a right or a wrong time) and wanted to get our daughter statemented and into school and then we could maybe think about having another. Im so pleased that it all worked out well for you :) and hope that its the same for my 2. We are starting a social story soon and hoping that will help. Im so pleased she will have a sister to play with and look out for her, just want to get it right and don't want to be to full on with her and the baby bonding or not try hard enough! And so pleased they got on well :) that's so lovely and reassuring to hear xx

Mine are 1 and almost 3 but the older one is big and in 4-5. We bought matching outfits for a wedding from next.

Nothing wrong with a newborn wearing clothes. I think you will find it easy to buy matching stuff with having two girls, little summer dresses etc comfy for baby too.

I have boys and it tended to be little all in one short outfits for the younger one last summer, just as comfy as baby grows but wouldnt have looked so great on the big two year old Grin

The older one likes to see the baby in similar to what hes wearing so we they both have tops with cars, toy story, dinosaurs etc. Yes I know how mn feel about cwrtoon type tops and no I dont care. So there clothes arnt matching but do tend to have the same characters on them

Thanks isitme1 that means a lot x and I know what u mean about wearing babygrows all day. I used to keep my dd1 in a babygrow until someone come over or we popped out but I used to go out virtually every day, even if it was just to the duck pond or to pop to the shops or to go for a coffee so she was usually in a cute little outfit. I love mamas and papas and have pretty much bought everything in newborn that I could find in there :) and thanks 5madthings I am going to have a look in a min, its payday weekend so feeling a shopping spree coming on Grin

As I said each to their own moominsyonisarescary im going to get some pretty little cotton dresses I think, something that's suitable for both of them and comfy too :) and who cares if other people don't like the way YOU dress YOUR children, as long as their happy and ur happy that's all that matters Grin

OP, are there any knitters in your family who would enjoy making some matching cardigans and jumpers?

SavoyCabbage · 02/03/2014 11:22

I've got two girls and they love dressing the same.

MoominsYonisAreScary · 02/03/2014 11:25

Exactly Two I have 4 ds and if the 2yo will get dressed easier in the morning if he and the baby have lightning mcqueen on their tops im perfectly happy with it Grin

Jbck · 02/03/2014 11:29

I second the idea of a doll for your older DD as well with little outfits that she dan play Mummy with that sounds nice too.

My DDs had matching Christmas pjs when tgey were 1 and 7, from Boots DD1 was tiny like yours so it was age 4/5 or 5/6 for her, they were adorable.

I'm not normally one for matching children but in your circumstances it seems like lovely idea.

DD2 is 6 now and Ive been wondering if I can get away with buying her lots of stuff on the funkylittlepeople site linked to, I saw it on another thread and some stuff is really cute and a bit different.

Good luck!

GeraldineFangedVagine · 02/03/2014 11:38

Op i bought some teeny leggings and a teeny top for new baby from next and my son picked them as clothes for his little sister to come home in. He really got excited about it and im pretty sure they had the same tops in bigger girls too. I hope your daughter gets to share a bit of the excitement too. I think its a really good idea :)

GoodnessKnows · 02/03/2014 11:40

I know a Facebook group that sells absurdly beautiful matching baby and 5 y old clothes. Designer samples so you'll find lots of 0-12 months and 5 y old stuff as the as are typical sample sizes

GoodnessKnows · 02/03/2014 11:42

It's called
Exclusive Childrens Wear Samples
(no apostrophe).

I would get some little cardi's and jumpers knitted but baby is due in July so might be a bit warm, although I do love the little hand knitted cardigans, my dd1 had some really tiny ones as she was prem and they were so sweet. Im defo going to go with the doll idea with the little outfits. Such a great idea, and im going to make some little outfits once I start my maternity leave :) I do like matching for things such as xmas, and do plan on getting them a matching dress for xmas day, so I can take some nice pics, and iv just had a look on the funkylittlepeople website and some of their stuff is so sweet! so pleased im having another girl. Thanks Geraldine I would love her to get excited, im 20 weeks at the mo so hopefully when I have more of a bump she will. Iv got my 20 week scan Tuesday and shes coming so im hoping she might show some interest then and she might sort of realise what is going on :) and thanks goodness am going to take a look, hubby has left me his bank card to get a few "bits and pieces" which could be dangerous haha

Just an idea, could you use one of those companies that print photos/designs on t-shirts to print something matching? Then it could be super-personalised. DD could help choose the photo and add a message.

BikeRunSki · 02/03/2014 14:12

Vikings make stuff to order, in any size and fabric you choose.

BikeRunSki · 02/03/2014 14:18

Not sure that link worked Tiny Vikings

Twoprincessesistwiceasnice · 02/03/2014 14:40

Thanks :) I will have a look and that's a nice idea squiz thank you x

I think it's a lovely idea.

Because of the age gap getting tops printed might well be your best answer.

My too are three years apart and only once have I very deliberately dressed them the same.

They had very pink holiday outfits to wear at the airport. DD2 was only about three, but could be trusted to keep her parents in sight, DD1 was 6 and guaranteed to wander off in a dream, but does faintly keep an eye out for DD2.

Anyhow, I hoped if lost the'd spot each other or a nearby adult would at least pair them up.

Incidentally they looked really cute.

GoodnessKnows · 04/03/2014 08:31

Two princesses (love the name), PM me if you can't find the FB group. I'll try to add you somehow

Floggingmolly · 04/03/2014 08:33

No added Sugar do those "I'm the big sister" and "I'm the little sister" tshirts. They're really cute Smile
