Maternity pjs

Hi :)
I want to get some nice maternity pjs for hospital, not really for giving birth in but for afterwards or for in the house as I know will probably have quite a few visitors. I would really like some longish nighties but really struggling.

Primark are getting maternity nighties (longish by the sounds) in stock on March 15th. (I'm almost sure that was the date i was given, and it was from the buyer on another forum)
I'd say they will run out the door!!!!!!! I'll certainly buy a few of them anyway if i can get my hands on them..

Ahh brilliant thanks :) I went to primark a little while ago and was shocked they did maternity bras and leggings! Bought two bras for £8 and they were brilliant, I don't tumble dry them incase they shrink but they are nursing ones too, such a bargain, will be keeping my eye out xx

yes and they have maternity cami's as well, they are fantastic, i got 2 black ones and 2 white ones which i'm living in at the moment, under cardigans- 4 euro each, happy days! didnt see the leggings, will keep an eye out, you literally cannot have too many pairs of those it seems!x

I like my maternity nightgowns from mothercare. They've got (short) sleeves rather than straps which I I like, and are about knee length.

After DD was born I preferred them to pjs as I had an EMCS and they were more comfortable (and practical when going to the loo).

From memory they come in packs of two.

Oh and they have some buttons down the front for easy bf

I prefer nighties too Haahooo, i find i cant really sleep with anything on my legs and like you say, so much easier for going to the loo too. Fluffy slippers and sleeved/kneed nighties will be my outfit of choice in hospital for definite!

Yes I would like nighties as with dd1 it was really uncomfortable to have trousers on and also had a catheter so nighties would be ideal. Plus im due in July so would be nice and cool. Packing early as was in and out of hospital from 25 weeks last time with preeclampsia and am 20 weeks so just starting to pack, and thanks chica will keep an eye out for the cami's xx

I found a lovely one on M&S website last night for exactly this purpose. I can't post a link right now, but it was in their La Maisons De Senteurs range - long, buttons at front, white and really pretty.

If you can't find it I will post a link later.

It isn't a maternity line, but for after the birth I am sure it would be fine.

I bought a couple of these. They're not maternity but button down the front and are very roomy. They're also on a buy one, get one half price offer atm.

Nice! that's lovely, i love the colour, everyone is telling me to avoid white.. and 2 for 1 is the way forward- i might pop in there this evening and see if they have them.. if i'm a 10 normally, a 14 should be ok, right? mmm, maybe 16..

They are generously cut - I bought a 14 at 39 weeks and reckon I could've made do with a 12.

I actually tried on the 16 last nite, and Cardiad is right, they are generous!!! So i went for a 14. I got the silver swing one, and 2 of the same ones that Cariad got (the purple).

Everyone has said to avoid white- which suits me anyway, i am quite pale so white/cream tends to make me look like i'm in a mortuary- i'll be bad enough post labour as it is!!!!!!!!!

My hospital bag is pretty much packed now, i'm only 24 weeks, i probably need to get a life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow you are organised. I had bought everything for my hospital bag but didn't actually pack it until I went into labour!!

I got a brilliant but ridiculously expensive set of PJ's from Bravissimo, with the boob support in the top. I'm only in early pregnancy, so I guess these may not be suitable later in pregnancy (well the bottoms anyway - although they are really stretchy and soft) but found the boob support fantastic, and much more comfortable than any soft bra I tried. I hope I'll be able to wear them after birth.

Definitely avoid white - you're going to be bleeding heavily and it would be hugely embarrassing if you are wondering around in a white nightie with bloodstains at the back!!!!

Yes- that was why i went for the cranberry/purple coloured ones- i figured blood stains would blend in nicely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got 2 nighties from primark the other day. They are about knee length and have buttons on the front too. £4.50 each so I got two and put one in my hospital bag. I was chuffed as they were exactly what I was looking for.
