Im due late October so the October ante-natal board is well developed and moves way way too fast Grin

Anyone not on there who fancies a general chatter about the ups and downs of the first tri?

Im 5.3wks, found out just over a week ago, and this is dc2. I had a MMC last August, so am keeping quiet as long as possible about this all.

Current symptoms and state of play is tired, bloated and bloody starving. Could have had two plates of my dinner this evening.

So hi Grin

We are 5+4. My boobs are painful, I feel tired, I'm not sleeping well (this may be excitement), I feel sick, headaches (OH ended up driving to 24 hour garage at 3am to get me paracetamol last week) and I've gone off chocolate, not to mention bursting into tears at everything, I cried after sex last night because it was so good, OH says he misses the ice queen! :-)

It's a bit of a shock, baby was planned but we were expecting it to take a while to get pregnant, OH had mumps a few years ago and was told it may have left him infertile and I thought that as a 30 year old smoker who likes a glass of wine and has never had any 'accidents' I was unlikely to get pregnant.

THREE BLOODY WEEKS! We weren't even properly trying and used condoms quite a few times!

Really excited but also scared, my mum and auntie had quite a few miscarriages between them but Dr assures me that it's a whole load of different genes. Trying not to get too exited as we are at such early days but it's hard not to.

weebairn · 02/03/2014 13:36

Haha, Bails, I've been doing a lot of crying after sex too!! I'm not sure whether DP thinks he's just -that- good or whether he thinks I'm hating it!! Grin

weebairn · 02/03/2014 14:09

babynugget Congrats! With regards to drinking, maybe you could tell one person and get them to look out for you? I did this when I was 9 weeks in my last pregnancy, they bought me soda water and lime ("gin and tonic") all night.
I drank a (small) glass of wine at my brother's when I was 6 weeks cause I couldn't work out how on earth to say no! It was a very nice wine Grin I figure lots of people don't even know they're pregnant at that point… now I am too sick to even contemplate the thought…

Miskate and Bails - fantastic news, so great to hear of things being easy when you thought they were going to be hard.

Cookielove You are practically my due date buddy! 27 Sept? Though I am waiting on 12 week scan to date me properly as my periods were quite irregular.

kashka thanks for the videos! And congratulations to you too. It's weird to get knocked up quickly when you were expecting it to take a while, isn't it? The first time we took around 4 months, so I was so shocked to be pregnant within a couple of weeks of taking my coil out this time!

hevava Yes to the time going backwards. And congrats on your scan, wonderful news after such a long and difficult time for you.

Hedgehog - that's amazing that you got your BFP just before looking into fertility treatment etc - brilliant, congratulations! It's quite normal not to get any symptoms.

Well I am 10+1 today. I thought the sickness was passing but it's back full force again. DP is doing almost all the childcare, I feel pretty useless. Really hope this bit passes soon. I also feel a bit like I"m just making the whole thing up, despite the sickness and tiredness. I look just the same and am struggling on at work. Got my 12 week scan on 20 March so hopefully it will seem a bit more real then.

gunwalloe · 02/03/2014 14:14

Hi Im due on the 27th Sept alls going well except for extreme tiredness

cookielove · 02/03/2014 15:39

weebairn I too am waiting for my scan! :)

HumTeach1012 · 02/03/2014 16:24

I'm 8+4 due October 6th. This is our first pregnancy and I'm so excited. Took us 8 months to conceive. I'm a teacher so I'm absolutely exhausted doing constant 12-14 hour shifts. Boobs are killing me especially my nipples. Can be very moody too especially when I'm tired ( which is all of the time!) just want to get past the 12weeks mark and have our first scan. No one knows our good news yet, trying to think of a cool way to tell people. I keep feeling very paranoid that people can tell because my boobs are massive and feel as though my belly is too. So exciting tho and can't wait! Xx

peppercold · 02/03/2014 20:26

Hi

I'm 7+2 my third dc. Had mmc seven years ago, and since had ds2 :-)

I had my coil out in November so it happened pretty quick for me too!

Had a dull painful ache along my left side tonight while in the bath. Low down in my pelvis around my back and down my hip and thigh!

Is it normal? Everything stretching maybe? Lasted about ten minutes, I'm chef and had a busy day on my feet!

MyNameIsKenAdams · 02/03/2014 20:28

Experienced my first bowt of MS yesterday - just a shame it was in the middle of a crowded bar for a friends hen Blush

hi pepper I've had some weird pains and cramps and some Googling assures me it's normal but rarely mentioned for some reason. I would rather it wasn't happening but will try to deal with it.

Sometimesbrunette · 03/03/2014 00:22

I'm due 21st October. Baby #1

I've had the lot, cramps, sore boobs, extreme thirst, weird cravings "I must have an onion bahji' . Only on here was feeling rot and can't sleep.

Congrats everyone x

cookielove · 03/03/2014 07:27

Feel so sick argh!!!

peppercold · 03/03/2014 10:03

Thanks juniper, eased off but had it during the night. Goes right down my thigh a proper heavy dull ache! As its mainly in my leg and hip I'm.trying not to worry to much.

JuniperJones · 03/03/2014 12:27

Just got a text from the midwives to say I have to pick up an envelope at the surgery re first appointment. How cloak and dagger! Guess it's the early scan date, nerve-wracking stuff Confused

RedandChecker · 03/03/2014 12:35

Hi

I'm also due late October. 6 1/2 weeks.

Also had a MC in March and then August so feeling very nervous.

Congrats to you all.

upnorth11 · 03/03/2014 12:39

Hi and congrats everyone!

I am also due on or around 29 October, I.e. 5+5 today. It's great to see that many of you have a similar date. It's also our first.

I have only very faint symptoms. No bleeds so far, yay, no MS, only slightly nauseous, no cravings, only left boob a bit sensitive maybe and faint cramping at times, but nothing serious.

Still can't believe it...

Must make booking-in appointment today...

RedandChecker · 03/03/2014 12:45

congrats upnorth

I'm nearly 7 weeks and haven't booked in yet! woops.

Lucky you sounds wonderful so far. I on the other hand have had extreme tiredness, backache, boobache, and morning sickness everyday! Completely the oppositte with my son so I'm hoping it must be the signs of a girl ;-)

Dazedconfused · 03/03/2014 12:59

hello everyone I'm due 1st October but this is provisional due to body being weird in December and January.
I gave up booze at the start of the year (didn't even know I was pregnant yet so quite lucky) my friends just think I'm on a health kick but a few are looking suspicious. I do like a glass of wine.
I've been doing the same with tonic/sparkling water for certain things. I have a hen doo in a few weeks and will be 16 weeks by then and am dreading it but know will just have to relax and try to enjoy it

congrats to everyone I hope you are all keeping well xxx

upnorth11 · 03/03/2014 14:06

I think I need to make the appointment for in 3 weeks as the midwife who is attached to the gp practice is not in every day and so appointments get booked up quickly.

cookielove · 03/03/2014 17:34

red the hospital didn't get my referral so I've still not booked in, finally got a date for it I'll be 12+1 when I have it!

Been sent home from work as there is a child with mumps (not in my room but have come into contact), and a child in my room (had close contact) with symptoms of mumps and it can cause miscarriage. Just until I get my immunity checked.

RedandChecker · 03/03/2014 19:06

Wow my sister in law was the same with her booking in over the Xmas period which meant she didn't have her scan until 16 weeks - she got to find out the sex in the first scan!!

Oh gosh mumps! Hooe your immunity comes back OK

inmybelly · 03/03/2014 19:55

5w6d today. Fatigue hit me today like an artic lorry, staying awake at work was a real challenge. Have been in bed since 7pm. Also my hips and legs are really aching. Is this a normal early preg symptom??

Feel like I'm a sitting duck just waiting for the nausea to start...

This is my first pregnancy and totally underestimated the fatigue. How do they/you do this with a child already at home?! Hats off to you legends.

Zzzzzzzzzzz

cookielove · 03/03/2014 19:57

inmybelly I work in a baby room, it is killing me! This mump scare has given me a well earned break Grin

red oh no if we get it that dh may want to find out!

inmybelly · 03/03/2014 20:04

Cookielove, seriously, how do you stay awake???

Without caffiene I just relied on biscuits, pints of water and regularly slapping myself in the face!

cookielove · 03/03/2014 21:19

It is shattering, sometimes when we rub the babies backs to get them to sleep I lean on the side of the cot close my eyes and get a few minutes of rest Blush

I do miss diet coke!

inmybelly · 04/03/2014 01:58

It's hard to believe that something the size of a lentil is making me feel like this!

After being exhausted all day I've now woken at 2am ravenously hungry. The lentil wants a biscuit...
