Booking midwife appointments

Hiya.
I know it's generally different for all doctors surgeries etc but generally speaking how long before I'm due an appointment with midwife should I book it?

I'm 12+3 and told its imperative I see then at 16 weeks due to previous pregnancy complications etc (I know it's standard at 16 weeks but HAVE to see them at 16 weeks - their choice of words).

How late should I leave it before booking? Would I look like an idiot if I tried to book now for 4 weeks time. X

I always booked at each appointment for the next one - so my 16 week appointment was booked at my booking in, and then the 28 week appointment was booked at the 16 week one.

Ok thanks. I'll pop down to my doctors tomorrow and book it then :-) x

At our docs you can only book 4 weeks in advance, so I set a diary reminder and do it as soon as I can.

Def not too soon for you to do it!

Ours is the same. You can only book a max of four weeks in advance. I set a diary reminder too.

Midwife keeps her own diary so books the next one at the end of the appointment. I didn't realise this was unusual!

Mine does too pasta, but only if the next appointment is four weeks or less away.
