Hi all. First time on a forum... I'll try to keep this brief.

Have had a rollercoaster month after finding out I was pregnant for the first time a few weeks ago. Within days I started bleeding heavily. Was referred to the EPU and told an early miscarriage was 90% likely. Anyway, back and forth to the EPU I've been over the last couple of weeks- my HCG levels were rising but no pregnancy sac could be found. This morning at 7 weeks 2 days, they can finally see the pregnancy sac in my right tube.

Naturally I'm devastated. With all the uncertainty I hadn't let myself become attached to the idea of having 'a baby' but now I'm feeling very doom and gloom about future pregnancies and fertility. But the big question- what treatment to have?? I've told the doctor I'd rather not lose a tube so am going back in tomorrow for the meth injection, but now coming home and reading further in to it, I'm wondering whether surgery would be more conclusive?? I just want whichever treatment will give me more chance of a successful pregnancy next time.

Would love to hear from people who had ectopics first time round and the kind of treatment they opted for? And also of positive pregnancy stories following this horrible thing. I'm 29 and a week ago my HCG was 2400. Waiting for today's blood results which may make the decision for me but in the meantime I'm very confused!

Hi

I’m new here but I’m desperate need of advice! I did a clear blue test 2.5 weeks ago, unsure of my previous period dates due to a miscarriage the month before. I went for a scan on 30th Nov saw what they thought was a tiny sac but weren’t 100% sure so did my hgc bloods which came back at 1064, they said this matched with what was seen on the scan, had more bloods Friday (4th dec) increase up to 1943hgc, repeated Sunday (6th dec) and it was 2275 hgc. I had a scan today and they are saying they can’t see anything in the tubes or womb, a small what could be sac in the womb but also might not be. They said pregnancy of unknown location. However hgc is increasing. They have said as they are yet to locate it they want to treat it as ectopic even though this hasn’t been confirmed! They want me to have an injection tomorrow to lose the pregnancy! I really don’t feel this is right and I just wanted to know if anything else had numbers of 2275 and couldn’t see anything, and what happened next? I have no bleeding or pain

I’ve recently had the same. They let me wait for 3 weeks before letting me decide to operate or have methotrexate. It was my choice to wait as I was like u and felt like it was too early to tell. I was 7 weeks. I had 3 possible embryos, 2 unknown location and 1 miscarriage in uterus. As long as my pain was ok and I wasn’t at risk of rupture I left it as long as I could.
I had methotrexate 2 weeks ago.

Still feeling sickly and absolute knackered but not too bad.
