Probs TMI, but mucus plugs!! How long now???

38 weeks today, midwife says baby's head is tucked down nice and low, just discovered I've lost mucus plug.... Anyone got any ideas how long I'm in for a wait??

I think i had mine on the friday and then went in about 24 hours later.

First time was about a week from losing plug to meeting baby, this time plug went on Sunday and I'm still waiting for labour. Sooooo frustrating!!!

Spent all night telling my fiancé 'this is it, I'm sure I'm having contractions!!!'... Just gas it's always just gas

I'm also 38 weeks lost my plug last night thought I was getting contractions but went of again :( so im guessing it was just Braxton hicks... never wanted pain so much in my life lol hope it's not long for u x

I was 40+3 when I lost mine. Lost it at 6.30pm, went into early labour 4 hours later and DD was born at 3.40pm the next day. Good luck.

Same as Manc451 both times I'm afraid. Took weeks last time and is the same this time. Hope it is quicker for you OP.

Sorry to sound odd but would anyone mind describing what there mucus plug consisted of/looked like?
I'm 39weeks and had a big mucus amount with a few spots of pink blood 1 week ago, not sure if this was it as I don't remember the plug going with my other 2 dcs.

I know what you mean jessandalfie, getting excited about back pain and willing it to get worse does seem mad!

Mine was like a great big sneeze! It was on my pad and literally a big blob that had to be scooped out! Gross I know, but you did ask :p mine wasn't tinged with blood though, I expected it to be, midwife said it is generally pink or has bloody streaks, but can be clear too.

I lost my plug at 4:30pm.. waters went at 11:00pm and I'd had ds2 by 8:43am after a very very quick labour!

I'm so jealous of all you ladies! Reckon I'm a while off

Lost mine at 5am, waters went at 7am, contractions kicked in at 11am, DD born at 6pm. Good luck!
