The pill and EDD

Hi, I have just found out I am pg but didn't have a clear month after coming off the pill. Is my EDD still based on my LMP or does that not count as Drs don't regard pill bleeds as periods? By my LMP I am 4 weeks today which means I found out at 3+4 would that be too early to find out if it were right? I found out on a First Response test.

Thanks for your help!

your date will probably be taken from your dating scan. I had no idea what my LMP date was and it was the scan that was used to estimate my due date. I dont think they would use your pill bleed as your LMP date (but could be wrong of course!!!)

Hi Enthusia,
Congratulations! They will date you at your dating scan - sounds like you'll be ahead by at least a few days as you got a BFP so early. I was moved forward by 5 days from my LMP date which was great because at the early stages every day counts!

H Enthusia

I also fell pregnant this month and it's my first month off the pill. I had my 6 week first anti-natal today with the doctor and she took my last period as a proper bleed and dated me from this. She said it still counts as I knew that I ov'd on a certain date but that it may adjust slightly after the dating scan.

DO you know when you OV'd?

No idea when I ovulated!!!! The only thing bothering me at the mo is that I am showing already!!!! My ds is only 9 months and I do realise that I haven't given my stomach muscles much time to get back to normal. But I have such a bump that a friend guessed today, but I am only 4 weeks!!!!!!

Oh my goodness thats amazing. This is my first pregnancy and I can't wait to have a bump! Although I guess it means you can keep it quiet until the 12 week safe period.

I fell pregnant in May (with my first) in the first month off the pill too. They did count my 'last period' even though it was a pill bleed. I wasn't sure of dates at all as before I went on the pill my cycle could be anything from 22-35 days, but when I did the preg test it was on day 32 and it does appear I had stayed with the cycle established by the pill. I had my dating scan three weeks ago and it confirmed my original EDD to the day so last period, even just off the pill, does seem to be an ok sign to go by. Congrats!

those of you who fell pregnant the first month off the pill, how did you know??? I haven't really experienced many classic symptoms, though I get what can only be described as 'hot flashes' several times throughout the day. But nothing else - no nausea, no sore breasts, etc. Should I spend the money to take a preganancy test or not? I'm only on day 33 since start of last 'pill period'
