ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 04:40

oh cacraig

poor you!Thanks
I do symphatise.

Have a good cry - it will release some of the stress at least.

And despite wanting to suggest to call the Guinness Record team to witness first ever actual forever pregnancy (Wink ) I promise you that you will have your sweet little baby by the end of next week.

think of it this way:
from now on every day that passes means you have to wait less and less till he/she is here.
Not long now.

Cacraig2 · 12/03/2014 04:47

Thanks zingsweetmango having a good cry and a hot chocolate xx

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 05:24

attagirl! Smile

do remember to snack and nap - a well-nourished and rested body is more likely to get on with it!
tbh whatever makes you feel relaxed will be beneficial and the more stress-free you are, the better.

easy to say, I know, but it's true!

(and call me Zing!)

PiratesMam · 12/03/2014 05:53

Zing can you come and live with me this week please, and bat away all the birth- botherers?!

cacraig you are not alone; I am now 40+6 too, so fed up of all the mums at the school gate looking at me in sympathy every morning. Have been up since 4am unable to sleep. 4th sweep happening this morning and induction booked for Monday Confused

Cacraig2 · 12/03/2014 08:30

Thanks zing up with dd1 it unfortunately never stops! Shattered from no sleep and haven't even had baby yet.

Goodness pirate that is good they have done a few sweeps already although shame they haven't worked. This will be my first post date appointment and sweep tomorrow and was foolishly counting it would do the trick. I hope they give me a date for early next week although suspect it will be towards the end Hmm

LJBanana · 12/03/2014 08:37

Can I have a winge-even though I'm not over yet?
I'm 39+6 an the kid within is giving me the run around. Start stop, start.....,,.stop,start reached for phone.......STOP. Since Saturday!
Massive sigh!
Can't walk spd, have 2 other children so can't rest and did I mention start, stop, start, stop????

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 08:50

pirates

I'm packed - what's your address?Grin

crac

FIL woke me up at 11pm with a totally unnecessary phone call and I was unable to fall asleep until after 6.30am
add being sick and having a nosebleed simultaneously at 6am, no car till Thursday as waitingfor replacement part and DH away tonight so having to cope with our 6 kids on my own tonight, again and you can see why I'm moving in with pirate!Grin

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 08:53

But I'm here to help all of you, it's what I do well.Wink

(just make sure you look after me in July when I'm overdue and loosing it!
I already know I'll be using the very apt name of ZingWhale Grin )

Cacraig2 · 12/03/2014 13:48

Oh my word zing I take my at off to you his do you do it?
banana sounds like your close from other mums those who we're start stop labours had really really quick deliveries when the time came so fingers crossed for you. To be honest I felt as impatient at 38+6 as I do now at 40+6 at least I know there is an end in sight with induction looming. Feel more severely pissed off at the injustice of it all why others deliver early but I have to wAit and wait x

Spookey80 · 12/03/2014 14:11

Hi, I'm still here too. No sign! 40+5 and I too am fed up of the sympathy look from the school mums, I literally dread it every day now.
It's been a lovely day here and I have been in bed with a migraine, my dsis has taken ds to the beach and I really feel gutted, thought my baby would be here by now so we could do things like that together. Feel so down and useless.
Reading this thread helps though. 2nd sweep for me tomorrow. Keeping fingers crossed for everybody.

Spookey80 · 12/03/2014 14:14

I have now given up trying to help things along,. I am knackered. I was going for long walks every day, I was doing loads of stuff at home, but none of worked, so now it's just gonna happen when it does,.,or not and then I will have an induction! Aargh!

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 16:45

Cac

delivering too early is not always good.
even a week or two makes such a difference to baby's weight and overall health as well to the birth process itself - smaller babies can mean longer labours as baby's weight is simply not putting enough enough pressure on cervix to dilate at a good rate!

therefore an 8 lbs baby can be much quicker and easier to deliver than a 6lb one!

so don't wish for it too happen to early! Wink

It's hard to patient. may I offer some refreshments? cake? icelollies? footrub? Grin

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 16:46

I meant you as well Spookey

shout if you need me to sing you lullaby! Wink

Cacraig2 · 12/03/2014 17:01

I have feeling this baby will certainly be well over 8lb zing Shock the only refreshment I feel like is a large glass of wine Wink

Sorry to hear your missing the sunshine spooky I am trying to console myself there will be lots of days at the beach with dc1&2 to come Smile hope your migraine lifts soon Thanks I have also given up on trying home labour inducing tactics - they don't work Angry

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 17:04

good!
DD, my lightest, was 8lb 3oz and did a brilliant job being born! in fact with her I had no tears so no stitches were needed.

Spookey80 · 12/03/2014 18:01

Zing- I would also like a glass of wine! Am almost all caked out as haven't stepped eating for the past few months.
Also...loving the advice r.e not always delivering early,., maybe a sneeze birth' is coming to us all.
Thks for the flowers cacraig,, to you too..just because!

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 18:12

ding ding, room service is here with lovely wine m'ladies!Grin

Wine Wine

LJBanana · 12/03/2014 18:43

I will have a glass, thank you! Cheers ladies!

I had the midwife this pm the baby's head is engaged. She said as it's no 3 there's not much muscle support etc that's why I'm in so much pain. She said I could have a sweep next week. I nearly begged her for one there and then. Never have I wanted that direct violation more!!

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 18:54

Banana

here you go Wine Smile

Cacraig2 · 12/03/2014 18:55

I know banana I begged for a sweep at my appointment on Friday when I was 40+1 but mw refused I was to wait for my 41 week hospital appointment Blush

Another lady on mums net laughed at what stage did our fantasy turn into waking up in a pool of amniotic fluid Grin I still hope when I go to bed every night this occurs! Good luck to all who also has this fantasy for tonight.

Roll on tomorrow's sweep at least will feel something being down at this stage would accept any violation. just hope it works -sigh x

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 18:58

Banana

she could have done it.

when I had the last sweep with DS5 (9 days over) I told her to do it as if she hated me!
she laughed and said she would not want to hurt me but I said hurt me, I can take it, I do not want another section!

it was definitely a proper sweep (ouch) but he was born that evening so I believe it worked

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 19:04

Attention all Babies!
listen to your Auntie Zing!

You rent has expired or will expire soon so please vacate the premises in an orderly manner, asap.

Can you hear me? I'm asking nicely so please do as you are told.
On behalf of your landladies I thank you for your kind cooperation.

Grin
LJBanana · 12/03/2014 19:06

Thanks for the vino!
I know she could have done it, I thought that. With DS 1, I had 2 one the day before where I'm sure the woman's actually touched my spleen-or some other internal organ. My waters went that night and that was the day before!
She did offer me a leaflet on them though-I think she was trying to let me down gently!! I declined the leaflet as I think I've had about 6 sweeps before and a leaflet never got things moving.
It's not the waiting(yet) I'm actually in agony with spd, I can't even walk my eldest too school, it's rubbish!!

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 19:57

do you think maybe she meant for you to roll up leaflet and shove it up your hooha to do a self-sweep?Grin

ZingSweetMango · 12/03/2014 19:58

SPD is vile.
had it quite badly with DS3, mildly with last 3.

waiting for it to kick in a few monthsConfused
