went to loo this morning and found bright red blood on the tissue. That was about an hour agao and there hasn't been any more.I'm nearly 12 weeks. I had a miscarriage last year but this feels completely different. I have spoken to the midwife and I have an appointment at the EPU tomorrow morning but I could really do with some reassurance....
Thanks

It might just be changes in hormones, womb stretching... I had a few bleeds while pregnant and never found a cause. Wishing You All the Best for tomorrow xxxxx

I am sorry you are going through this and it must be agonising to wait until tomorrow. I would be reassured by the fact that there has been no more blood. Are you in any pain?

hunkermunker · 08/08/2006 10:31

I had a bleed with DS1 when I was 10 weeks pg - scared me so much, but it was fine. LOADS of women bleed around this time and go on to have healthy pregnancies.

I was told at the time that bleeding without pain was a good sign - if it got painful then worry more, but even then by no means certain you'd lose the baby.

Good luck tomorrow - rest today if you can and try not to worry (MUCH easier said than done, I know) x x x

this happened to me when I was pg with dd1

they even booked a room for me to go miscarry in

she's 19ms now

it was just a ruptured blood vessel or something

crossing my fingers for ya

Cappucino · 08/08/2006 10:32

not dd1, dd2 (memory fading with age!)

Tommy · 08/08/2006 10:32

not really pain - I have been having funny period type pains all the way through so far and it doesn't seem to be any different today. I'm still feeling sick (although am very worried of course) and my boobs still feel swollen so definitely still feel pregnant but I don't know if it's just my mind playing games now....

It is surprisingly common Tommy and it is a good sign that you still feel pg and not having pain. Best wishes for a good outcome. Thinking of you. xxx

thank you. We're going out for a picnic today. The MW told me to take it easy but just try and get on with things so I'm not sitting around at home worrying. I'll have my sisters with me so I should be able to relax a bit and let the children play.
Really scarey though after last time...

mw told me if I stopped feeling sick that was a bad sign

emzickle · 08/08/2006 10:46

Just be calm and try and enjoy your day... Good Luck x x

MrsJohnCusack · 08/08/2006 10:53

oh good luck for tomorrow Tommy
have had the bright red blood a couple of times so far (am 11 and half weeks) and still here (touch wood) - it's terrfying though.
As others have said, it's suprisingly common - I had it last time at 9.5 weeks and that baby is now 20 months old. both times they've found no reason and reckon it's from the cervix and not a bleed near the baby
Fingers crossed for you

izzysmum · 08/08/2006 13:05

I had a bleed just before 12 weeks and have had bleeding all the way through this pregnancy, in the end they have put it down to a cervical erosion.

Hope all is ok

Katy

Just back from the hospital where I had a scan and was very happy to see a wriggly baby whose heart was pumping away like it should

Thanks all for your reassurances
